Angry. Had the Canon 300 f/4 on the XH1, but hadn't adjusted the settings to show it, so the camera thought the 50mm was on. Makes a difference in how it sets the autoexposure/auto ISO. I think it may impact the IBIS, too. This bastard did not care that I was there.

So, what happens when a young, stupid bull tangles with playground equipment?

The large herd was gathered in an easily accessible location today. There were 5 mature bulls in the herd, and a handful of immature bulls (oh, and one bored horse).

Golfing today. Saw him twice, about an hour and a half apart. On this course, I've seen deer, elk, coyote, fox, rabbits and squirrels. Nice living in the Rockies.

Saw lots of elk but the lighting was particularly bad then. Coolest thing was on the trail in the elk refuge a coyote crossed the trail in front of us and then proceeded for 15 minutes to try to catch a vole about 40 feet away.

Yeah, Colorado. Now, we lock the car. We're always careful to have no food in them, so this was surprising. Seats were wet and bits of bear fur. Fortunately, my wife's car. My wrangler is harder for bears, because it's a push in button while pulling. Some bears still do it, though.

We were at Grand Lake this week. (The lake pictured is just a small pond nearby.) Our first day, my wife and son were on the dock when the local moose mom and kid showed up and trapped them for a half hour or so. Finally, they just got in the canoe and went down the bank a bit. The water is only about 2 feet deep there, so they were concerned that putting the boat in would attract attention, but it became clear the moose mom was there for the long haul.

When I see coyote in more urban areas, more likely to be mangy. So, the ones I see on the golf course in highly urban areas look bad. At Cherry Creek State park, still surrounded by Denver, but it's a very large area of completely rural/wild nature, they're far more healthy. The one I posted in this thread earlier was the largest/healthiest I've seen. At my house, on top of a mountain, houses on one acre lots, it literally splits the difference. Smaller, not obviously unhealthy coyote. It's almost as if people gently caress them up.

There's a small herd of bull elk that I've seen four or five times the last couple of weeks. No cows at all, 8 mature bulls, 4 or 5 young ones. Practice fighting, hanging around. Really not aggressive toward me at all, which is not the case when it's a mixed herd.

Yup. White is fine as an exposure thing, but the color tint shouldn't be hosed with too far from what was happening.
