The goodreads page count feature is great for this. I mean you could also argue that going by pages instead of books influences people towards reading easy books and away from challenging ones. A Goosebumps is worth the same as Heart of Darkness in terms of sheer page numbers. In reality, people should just do whatever they want with their goodreads. I set a challenge for myself every year but mostly I just like using it to track what I've read, and flag books I want to read.

Thursday Next posted:Goodreads is a fantastic place to have thousands of people tell you that the Da Vinci Code is the absolute best book ever written. I just use it to track my books and then it gives me recommendations based on what I'm reading, rather than based off of lists from people who love the poo poo out of Goosebumps or w/e
