They sell durian at the farmers market near my place. I have never tried it, but I may need to now. They have both fresh and frozen.

I make turkey burgers every now and then, and they usually turn out pretty well. I shop at the same market that Mindphlux does and their ground turkey is really good (as far as I know at least). I still mix it with sriracha and some fish sauce though.

Been in Prague for a day now and have eaten quite well so far. Had some boiled beef neck with bread dumplings in a horseradish sauce earlier. Friend of the family is taking me out tonight. Last time I see him he was very much like Steve Martin character in the wild and crazy guys sketch from SNL. Any other places that you can recommend would be awesome. I head to Frankfurt in a few days. All I know is that I have to try some doner. Not sure what else I should try there.

There is a sandwich place near my office that used to have a chicken liver sandwich, but it's not on the menu anymore. They still have a side of them with braised greens though. I have never been big on fried liver. I do like pate though.

Found a site from the Library of Congress where they are scanning in rare books in putting them up in pdf format (just picture files so you cannot highlight text) and I have been loving the gastronomy section. The recipes in "The Accomplish'd lady's delight in preserving, physick, beautifying, and cookery :" are great, but no real measurements. I still might try some of them. As per tradition my dad cooked up a heap of palacsinta (crepes) for breakfast. He made three batches worth and it was gone in short order. My brother is cooking a turkey and I am bringing some sides. Cauliflower baked in a garlic cream sauce with prosciutto, green beans with shallots and a warm mustard vinaigrette, and those carrots that .dino (and everyone else now)makes. I think my niece and nephew won't touch any of them, so I made some plain green beans for them. They are not adventurous eaters, but we are trying.

I booked a flight to Denmark in mid May for no other reason than the flight was cheap. Two weeks total, but some of that will be in Germany and maybe Prague. What am I getting myself into other than possibly being run over by a bicycle?

I made it to Copenhagen and am staying in Nørrebro. So far I am loving it, but I still have a lot more to see. One thing I noticed is kebab shops as far as the eye can see.

Spending my last night in Prague at a neat little craft beer bar. I was looking up places to go the other night and turns out this place was on the range street. The place is called Illegal Beer. Been here four times now and had some amazing pale ales, lager, and bitters. gently caress, I am going to miss this city. The food is great, the beer is cheap and amazing, and the people are wonderful.

There is a great small distillery in Pittsburgh called Wigle (They pronounce it Wiggle). I brought back a bunch of their stuff when I was there last year. I really liked their rum that is not actually rum. It is made with honey instead of cane sugar and molasses, so legally it cannot be called rum. Their rye and wheat whiskey were also really tasty. I am hoping to get back up there this year since they don't ship to GA.

The owner of the isp I worked at 15 years ago once wheeled a keg into the office at noon. He told everyone to log out of the phones and said we were closed. I once found him in his office naked and passed out on the floor at 7am. He used to roll a bottle of vodka between his office and the office managers office. Danes can drink.

Headed to London tomorrow for about five days. I've been in Belgium for the last few days and have eaten my weight in mussels and frites. That and drank enough Orval to float a cruise ship. Meeting up with a friend for lunch and going to a comedy gig, but no idea what else to hit up food wise. Never been before, so at a loss. Same goes for Paris next week, but I just plan on living on bread, cheese, ham, and wine while there. And maybe chain smoking gauloises while I practice sneering.
