bartolimu posted:That is an amazing tap list and I'm going to think strongly about heading there this weekend. My usual spot is Churchill's, which has great things on tap and great things in bottles, but they can't challenge that list. The list on the site was kind of out of date but really the list was equally as good. Pliny, Blind Pig, Damnation, Sanctification, Speedway, Sculpin, etc etc. The Sculpin was fresh as hell too, it was like sticking my nose in a cup full of pellet hops.

We did the Brewhop tour and included Lost Abbey as part of it. My god fresh Wipeout is amazing. I thought Hop-15 was a little too abrasive, but I enjoyed my stay, as they let me try some 2010 Angel's Share. I missed the Framobois opening by two days I wish I had known about the local beer thing, I couldve filled my beer suitcase with stuff to give my tour guide and lost abbey guys. Tomme the head brewer/owner seemed like a cool guy. I never did get to try any Alpine, every bar I tried was out of it all.

I have been feeling like my dislike is irrational because It seems like a ton of people are in love with them, especially their Modus Hoperandi. I haven't tried that one, so I can't comment about the quality, but they are one of the few micro's in CO that I don't really like, also they have crappy label design. I love Modus Hoperandi, but it's also the only one ive ever had from them.

Some of their more unusual stuff is kind of cool as well. Willy Vanilly was a one-time purchase for me, but it's interesting. Mandarin Nectar is quite good, but Gouden Vallei would be my vote for the odd thing I liked best. It's hard to go wrong with Alpine. I'm pretty familiar with what's good there, but are those things usually at the shop? My question was more along the lines of 'what's always there' edit: ^ ah gotcha.

Got to try Rock Bottom (Arlington)'s award winning espresso stout last night (GABF Gold 2009, WBC 2012 Bronze). I'd say it was very good, light & creamy mouthfeel, almost like a coffee-fied Milk Stout Nitro. I will be returning for 1.50 pint night for a couple of these... definitely not my favorite though. That award goes to the Bacon & Eggs Imperial Coffee Porter from Pizza Port OB.
