Long Island here. Looks like it's about 175ish miles for me. I might be up for coming out, depending on how many pieces my main car is in when this get-drunk-and-blow-poo poo-up fest actually happens. It's scheduled for surgery pretty soon.

^^I'd be down for BDUs as well^^ Still not 100% sure I'll be able to make it, but I'm going to try drat it. I am sadly rather low on things to contribute for the destructofest, except for a rusty gutted SVX door we could put thermite on / hit with hammers / run over with the muddin trucks / just loving blow up. Buuut, it won't fit in my rather useless car. Hopefully I'll able to take care of my poo poo lifter by then but if not, y'all are gonna get to see it as a clacking hoopty with no engine plastics and peeling valve covers! I hope it's done by then My car can fit tons of beer in it though, so I'll bring that at least, and maybe some stuff to grill up too - if I can figure out a way to ensure lack of rottenness by the time I arrive, that is. I'm thinking it'll take me somewhere between 3 - 4 hours driving. Question - I know we've got a date, but has a general let's-get-this-poo poo-started time been figured out yet? I assume most people don't want to be that guy who shows up 2 hours ahead of schedule and awkwardly sits around while the host / hostess tries to get everything in order. Also - I have a friend who's not an AI'er but would love the poo poo out of everything being discussed ITT and doesn't get to do any of it out here. Can we bring non-AI'ers? It would just be the 2 of us, since I don't know any small children or double amputees that would be able to fit in my back seats for more than 3 minutes.

Slow is Fast posted:ChrisGT is crashing at my place tonight. I'll see your two cases of beer, and raise you two more! I picked up variety pack 12'ers from Saranac, Brooklyn Brewery and Blue Point, along with something called Mariachi Idk, it was $8 for a 12 pack and apparently is a South American Corona knockoff. Also, I realized I have a large case diff out of my BMW that I don't want and can't seem to give away. It's the big 210mm ring gear unit that only fits E31s and E32s, and is an open 2.93 grandma gear diff that everyone swaps out for a 3:15 LS or a 3:64 - so, even though it's in perfect operating condition, it's basically worthless. If I can fit it in my trunk, I'll try to bring it so we can do poo poo with it. Like connect the input shaft to some kind of motor and put things in the gears, or put Thermite on it, or make the AIest blender, etc. All dependent on if I can fit it in my car though, it's not exactly a haulin stuff type of vehicle.

Slow is Fast posted:This works out well. I'll be bringing variety packs from our local breweries, so anything I can try that's new will be awesome. That was my thought too, I wanted to bring some stuff from NY micros since it may not be readily available up that way. Not sure where Saranac comes from and I'm too lazy to google it or go downstairs to look, but Brooklyn (obviously) and Blue Point are local and awesome. I thought about bringing up a 30 of Genny Light in case beer pong was happening, but then I realized it is swill (although local swill).

I'd be in to meet up again. At the moment, I don't think I have any set plans all September, although I rarely make plans that far out so this is not surprising. Provided I can make it on whatever weekend / location is decided, I can bring more Yuengling

As I enjoyed the destruction show last time, I'd grab some powdered aluminum / iron oxide if I had the slightest idea where to get it locally. I don't think Amazon would get it here in time. I didn't even think of it until reading Ace's post. I can, however bring beer! I'll be coming up from Long Island, which (I think) makes me the southernmost AI'er in attendance. Anyone have beer requests? I plan on getting at least one 12er of Yuengling already, plus maybe some other stuff. Is Gritty's Maine beer? I liked the case I got last time

I saw this on the website:quote:After the people, one of the greatest resources we have at MakeIt is the shelving full of “junk” and parts, free for any members to pillage for projects. Many of these treasures were scavenged out of the trash/recycling, including most of the electrical components. I've got a bunch of electronic stuff here I was going to get rid of...couple not working DVD players, old car stereos, mid-2000s computers, etc. If so, I'll scrounge up what I can and bring it over, if not I'll trash it.

Any of you guys know how to properly set the idle on a chain saw? I can't seem to do it right. Every time I mess with the adjustment screws and try to start it, it either doesn't work or goes WOT. I may bring it with me (if I remember) and see if maybe someone else has better luck with it. I'm going to take the BMW, unless the weather sucks. I've had it under the cover since early November, so this is perfect to give it some mid-winter exercise. However, if the weather blows, I'm taking the Caddy. I don't suppose anyone needs anything hauled up there from Long Island? If so, I can do it as long as it fits in the truck and isn't horrifically gross.

Told me I had a failing wheel sensor (and which one), pulled up all sorts of stored codes, told my my air ride compressor had a stuck exhaust solenoid, gave real-time readings on various sensors, etc. I had great fun setting it to read my steering sensor and watching the little graph move as I turned the wheel. Umm, so if I bring my truck does someone wanna help me install a hinge pin / bushing kit in the driver's door? That's the only big thing I didn't get to this summer, because I never had a helper to assist with pulling the door off. Right now I'm 1/5, so I'm doing OK I think. Fun fact, while stopped in traffic on the way back from the one at Fart Pipe's place (I think NEAI 2.0??) there was a big van alongside me (with government plates ) that looked to be filled with HS girls on some sort of field trip. Also have a spool of mag ribbon to light the thermite somewhere, although it's been kicking around since the first NEAI so I'll have to hunt for it.
