The new Lions writer, Tim Twentyman seems pretty spot on.

I liked Tom Kowalski and was sad when he died. He was always pretty well informed and generally honest about the team and their shortcomings.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/epic-futility-with-lions-shouldn-t-be-william-clay-ford-s-lasting-legacy-in-detroit-230333207-nfl.html

Eric Adelson claims that Wm. Ford was the only owner strong enough to keep the Lions from leaving Detroit. Yes Detroit, the same group of fans that rewarded decades of incompetence by consistently selling out one of the largest NFL stadiums, and only engaged in open revolt after the NFL's single 0-16 season.

Stephen A. Smith just did a bit on First Take how people who feel strongly about Michael Sam and speak out against his homosexuality need to be able to have the freedom to speak without fear of reprisal. Apparently we need to protect the freedom of speech and allow people the right to have opinions we don't agree with. He doesn't feel a person's professional career (re: Dolphins players) should be in jeopardy for personal opinions. About an hour earlier, he ripped Donald Sterling to shreds for his opinions and said he needs to be stripped of the team. :psyduck:

I knew Stephen A. was a moron, but dang.

To be fair there is a world of difference between a racist/homophobic employee and a racist/homophobic owner. I would be more interested in going back to seeing what he said about Riley Cooper for comparisons sake.

If it makes you feel any better (or worse), he was arguing for the acceptance institutionalized homophobia based on "freedom of religion".

World's Shittiest Writer Mitch Albom just posted a sour grapes story about Suh and the Dolphins.

I loving hate Mitch Albom.

I love this attitude from Lions fans/writers that somehow Suh is leaving a contender for a bad team.

lol you're the lions and you're going to try and big league the Phins about Super Bowl appearances?

To be fair, the Lions were a missed FG away from a 1st round bye. That being said, this is 2015, free agency is a thing. It's not some morally repugnant event or personal insult if a person takes a new job.

It is amazing how easily people are willing to throw an accusation of racism at people based on nothing. People think nothing of accusing others of being racist like it is not a serious accusation. Really, Stephen A Smith just accused Chip Kelly of being a racist (without straight up saying it) in front of the entire county. That is not a joke. That is a serious accusation. It never gets treated like it though.

People do it with rape all the time, and that also ruins lives. There have been several rape accusations that were never proven, but idiot sports fans still sling them around as a way to insult teams/players.

Nah dude, there's still plenty of time to delegitimize a serious problem via wild speculation in an attempt to curry favor or interest on the internet. After all, Stephen A. Smith still has a job.

Dude, sexual assault is a serious problem. If you don't get it, nothing I can say will change your mind. So is racism, child abuse, animal abuse, murder, etc. They're very bad things.
