Hay guys what's going on in th
Great thread that has me thinking of a pool situation I had a few months back (spots and stripes, general bar pool) which I can't find the answer to in the rule books....

I was recently playing US pool for fun. My opponent misses all of his balls and the white sits behind one of his balls - meaning I was snookered, I could not hit any side of my last ball.

I know it's a foul...as he missed all his balls but i've been left worse off. In a lot of other countries they have the pick up rule where the white can be moved behind the line as the player has fouled and I can't hit both sides of one of my balls (I think the pick-up rule exists to stop purpose-fouling).

Is there anything similar is US pool or is it just a case of having to try and hit my ball and risking a foul in return?
