Dressing up as characters from it isn't exactly horrible. I know most creators seem to find it charming.

I wouldn't worry about that. Few things other than Homestuck have the potential to make idiotic teenagers think that spitting in a communal bucket in a public restaurant is a good idea. If CQ results in something equally terrible, I will be genuinely surprised, and after all my time on the internet, that would be a real feat.

Let's not ruin this thread by derailing that way. If you're really that interested (and trust me, you shouldn't be) you can begin right about here.

Hi…
being reading your comic for a while and have realized exactly what’s been bothering me about it. I don’t mean to offend, and i hope this helps you. But, all your characters appear to be one dimensional, with the exceptions of Princess nautilus. Where i’ve seen her scared, sassy, and fanatic side. The main character has one side, through and through, hesitant and reluctant. All other traits about him (EVEN his fighting side, aren’t thoroughly explored) Unlike the princess, where I KNOW what she’s passionate about, what she specifically finds irksome, and where she shows a tamer side in the phase of real threat.
In the Captain’s reveal (the giant crab) you got rid of the conflict immediately. To sound even more pedantic: conflict reveals character AND there should always, in every scene, be a presence of conflict (of any kind) in a scene. So that it creates interest. Say that Captain didn’t like the protagonist (say he thought he was to puny, or overly protective of the princess) that would reveal a bit more about both characters, while simultaneously create more questions (short term goals-that keep the audience engaged) How will cucumber act to this hostility? How will the princess deter or stop the Captains aggressions or suspicions (say she tells him how cucumber saved her not to long ago, and watch how his attitude changes). I’d think it would feel a little bit more satisfying over all. Either way, i hope this is received well and of use to you. Take care. Beautiful art as always.

I like how this person hasn't figured out that we are only just now on Chapter 1, which is usually not where the dynamic character development really takes off in a story.

This looks pretty true to the comic itself and not creepy at all, to be fair.

I am pretty sure she's fled the scene so as to not be literally thrown over there as is going to now happen to Cucumber.

I like how Nautilus disappeared in a couple of seconds, but then it turns out she just went "OMG LIMBO! :neckbeard:" and ran off. There is nothing about this comic I do not like.

It looks like the Nightmare Knight is staring at Trix cereal.

Does he like it? Did he grow up with the orb shaped Trix or with the fruit shaped Trix? Is he the Trix Rabbit in disguise?

That explains it! You know he's evil because he's one of those kids who always stole Trix from that poor rabbit!
