Which means, knowing this author, we're about to get a massive curve ball. Because the LAST time he did this, in Immortal Regis, everything got overturned within fifteen chapters. (See: the future Nex's Negative Power)

EDIT: Good God, I'm not used to this kind of output.

Yup, looks like you were right. Who the heck is Xix? Assuming that the Nex's bloodline thing is due to is Xix being made into an undead by Siana, who is left to be his mysterious missing parent? I vaguely recall some other serpent clan members from IR, but I thought they were all antagonists who died. Could it be one or more of them?

Oh no, Shioon is being awesome! We must stop him at all costs!

And then they will stop him, returning Shioon to the crippled kung-fu status quo. Ah well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

This was really a lot more interesting than Shioon going berserk while mostly dead. The manwha's already done that a bunch of times without developing his character at all.

I just hope the author doesn't go super overboard about it. It's not too much to ask for a Shioon that demands respect and doesn't accept bullshit while at the same time being a selfless individual where his friends are concerned. :gbsmith:

What's the bit about "he really believes he is the Gaju" supposed to mean? Do they just think he actually is a figurehead?

Why wouldn't they think so? Him being the gaju was weird from the start.

The tournament was meant to find the person who could hold/was holding the key. I'm shaky on those details. The blue haired guy is one of the previous major contenders, who has eaten up other people's powers until he became sort of a monster. The guy with the angel wants the blue haired guy to join him with the key. The magician hates the blue haired guy because he murdered his grandson.

In short, the story is sort of a mess. Just enjoy the spectacle, because it is all pretty meaningless.

The doctor is obsessed with what happened to Shioon, but has never before found an actual example. Generally speaking, if someone refers to you as an experimental subject they are not your friend.

I get that but he really isn't being presented as a threat to me. If anything, he reminds me of Elder Kwon. Kind of an abrasive on the outside but I don't think he's interested in like, dissecting Shioon.

He is hunting down the completely healthy Shioon so that he can study him. I can't quite understand how that could be interpreted as a friendly interest. He is one of the main murim elders, and they were the primary antagonists in the first series. They are not nice people at the best of times, and this guy has a vested interest in not being nice to Shioon.

It appears that Jin Mo-ri is/was the leader of the opposition to the "Gods". What I'm confused about is why the little white angel looking dudes turned on the kid who ate the key, I thought those guys were aligned with the main bad guy and I thought said main bad guy was okay with the kid eating the key?

Again, Son Goku. Monkey King (note the guys who look like monkeys and called him their king), rebelled against the gods and lost, has an extending staff and a circlet which serves to restrain him. Journey to the West out of nowhere.

The doctor wants Shioon alive. If Shioon lasts until the elders get there, they can retrieve him and he wins even though he will be even more of a bloody mess by then. Otherwise, the doctor would probably incapacitate him and then escape to study Shioon at his leisure.

Of course, considering what massive dicks all of the grand murim elders have been the doctor might very well try to kill everyone there except Shioon and take him anyway.

Haha, they are so obviously trying to get him into their clan. It is an assault on multiple levels, what with the sex appeal, gifts, and logical explanations for why he should spend lots of time at their place. Before too long will come the offhand remark about how the really baller skills he sees demonstrated are only for clan members and by the way we have skill books you could use right here. Oh, and as it turns out Sae-Young is looking for a husband, who would naturally be inducted into the clan.

I don't expect it to work, but the situation should be good for some laughs at least.

All of this conflict was initiated by him to find the person with his name, but he found her ages ago and hasn't stopped the sura from destroying towns to find Leez. Like 90% of the upbeat but dense thing is Kubera faking it. She might have started out that way, but now all she wants out of life is to not be abandoned by the few people she knows who are still alive and to kill the bird jackass. So, she does her solid best to get along with and avoid offending anyone she meets.
