How do i do glass? I'm currently drawing a domed building with an indoor park. After a rough sketch I'm at a draw (hurr) on how to draw the glass roof. It's currently just blended with a non-opague-alpha-channel, but that feels like a cheat somehow. Any clues?

Her pixel portrait is pretty similar to your sketches. Are you pixelating them, or do you just pay good attention to stay consistent?

I'v given up on pixeling smoke animations for my game by hand. I'm writing a small little tool now, one which runs some minimalistic particle physics and bakes the results. While I'm not actually happy with the current result (it needs more variations in movement and colour), I'm kinda feeling like i'm on the right track. [Edit] I'm happier now Wipfmetz fucked around with this message at 09:31 on Jul 31, 2022 |

My medieval/early industrial-setting turned into uh, something else. I'm not happy with the ground having harsh contrasts clashing with the buildings's smooth shadings. Wipfmetz fucked around with this message at 14:25 on Jan 2, 2023 |

Haven't found much time recently to code & draw, so I've just started a new project. This time i'm using a palette from Lospec (very slightly modified Hept32 from Endesga). This seems to work better than my attempts without one. I'm not happy with the hard material borders (the 'rock' area surrounded by 'soil'), but that's an issue for the distant future. So, uh... I am in need of doing a sideview of a wall climb animation. I also found that while there are lots of references for walk animations, there's nearly none for a wall climb. Does anybody have an advice or link for me?

I think the palette, a lightly modified version of hept32, does the heavy lifting of those vibes. Edit: Well, will you look at that. Baldies hat a successor. Wipfmetz fucked around with this message at 15:33 on Feb 21, 2024 |
