They walked into the humanities building and into one of the lecture halls (used to have some of my History lectures there). The campus is sprawling and wide open and there are something like 25,000+ students at the uni living between campus, Coventry and Leamington so it's no wonder they were walking about. The uni has a huge intl presence - something like 40% of students are intl - so no doubt quite provocative. They were looking at some of the flyers up in the humanities building - I was at Warwick in the early 2000s and even then it was probably the most progressive Uni in the country. The union was debating at the time the need for unisex toilets to accommodate transgender students and LGBTU as well as various National societies (China soc etc) were really popular.

Mostly he retweets links to his own wee news site and favs his own posts with them, trying to ride the UKIP bandwagon, but sometimes he posts some really offensive stuff and annoys people. Given that Britain First, the closest thing to a mainstream far-right organisation around these days, are currently running patrols aimed at protecting Jewish people from "the real enemy" (ie Muslims), I can't see how Bonehill's plan fits in at all. Looking to attract fash so neanderthal that they consider BF too progressive? Don't think Bonehill has ever successfully got any boots on the street except his own.

Bonehills off to prison soon. Sentencing next week for 5 counts of harassment and 2 of malicious communications. He's back to Crown Court for the Tescos thing in March and is looking at a couple of years for that. He's still awaiting outcome of charges about abuse to Luciana Berger and John Mann. The egotistical little fuckwad is going to get some serious jail time due to his attention seeking.

Man, imagining some skinhead chatting with them and being all "You know Shlomo, I weren't sure about you, but after seeing your deep and committed contempt for women, I think we really have more in common than not." Unless the Haredi in UK differ from the Israeli ones, couldn't really find much online about it, kept getting stories of them loving up flights rather than if they actually treat women like people.

It's not uncommon to see Israeli flags at EDL demos - some of it's fig-leaf "See we're totally not nazis!" PR, some of it's because they think Israel's great because they kill muslims - that's about as deep as the thinking goes. Mostly though it's because since WWII all but the most extreme of the far right have dropped their traditional anti-semitism, or at least learned to keep it very, very well hidden. I'm sure if you found a particularly deep thinker in the EDl they might also make the point that the Jewish community are pretty much assimilated in the way that far-right fuckheads like to use the word assimilated, in that they're totally indistinguishable from the (right wing illusion of) the general British population.

LOL http://www.scotsman.com/news/edinburgh-pegida-march-had-only-four-participants-1-3724963 The four participants didn't even show up to demonstrate properly, they were hiding behind the police CCTV van and announced to the police that they'd cancelled their static demo. We all had a good laugh, a wee sing-song, chatted to the other groups and dispersed. The Trots actually let other people from other campaign groups have the mic for a while too, which makes a nice change.

Looks like about 150 EDL turned up to their 'national' rally in Oxford yesterday. They did a pretty good job of disrupting the city centre but it seemed like there were more folks at the counter protest organised by UAF. I think the layout of the city centre gave the coppers quite a headache though as little groups of EDL guys kept popping out of alleyways and trying to start fights with the antis. I was a bit confused by the UAF photographer who seemed to want to take a lot of pictures of individual anti protestors - is that a usual thing? I'd have thought crowd shots of the protest as a whole would have more effect.
