So Islamic banking is applying the same taboos on usury that the Roman Catholic church once applied centuries ago until the reformation and people like Calvin suggested it wasn't totally against Christian morality to charge interest on money.

Yup!

Not so long ago, the fash had their call-centre near where I live in Belfast. I might do a little poking and see if they're still around.

(Also there's no salute associated with the red hand symbol)

I grew up in an Ulster loyalist community, and this is entirely true. Of course loyalists in NI are closely linked to the BNP and especially Combat 18, so they've used it as an excuse for Nazi salutes elsewhere. The nuances, symbolism and shibboleths are such that almost no-one who isn't from here gets it, so they can make any old shite up.

Would there be an appetite for a Northern Ireland effort-thread?

Well that's all you need, although the Bandits are from Limerick! I've poo poo to do for a few days but expect a thread early next week.

It's a bit lovely seeing so much taxpayers' money being spent on protecting fascists from the social consequences of the things they say and do.

It's the proximity to Lancashire that does it.

Pointless maybe-IWC interlude over!

Every so often I wonder why these guys are allowed to have Facebook groups, etc. Then I realise it's because the daft sods can't stop confessing to crimes and posting pictures of themselves doing dodgy poo poo. Completely obviates the need for expensive undercover operations, which are bound to have a chill factor since Keeley Hawes got her head deep-fried in Spooks.

Wow, I honestly didn't think that anyone outside of Pissnowhere, Mississippi believed that Obama was a Muslim.

One of the first people I heard refer to it as though it were accepted fact (it may have been before Obama was elected) is a Northern Irish musician and dedicated conspiracy theorist. Lovely bloke, just once he's known you for a few months he'll say something like "That's a great cup of tea. Course, there'll be no tea when the Antichrist becomes World President through the UN and puts everyone who won't carry a microchip in their foreheads into extermination camps. Next year."
