One of my favorite trailers is for 300.

The movie was ok, but the trailer is incredible. It includes nearly every iconic image and line from the movie. I would rather watch it 30 times in a row than sit through the movie again.

Maybe it's a Zack Snyder thing, but I feel the same way about Sucker Punch. Except replace the movie being okay with the movie being an abysmal failure.

If I was in charge of making trailers for the big blockbusters, I'd make sure they were always holding something back that people had to wait until opening night for. I remember two-years-and-change ago when this Iron Man 2 trailer came out and everyone went absolutely batshit about the suitcase armour. Then I went to the theatre and it basically had no impact because I had already seen it in the trailer 15 times. The moments people should be talking about when they leave the theatre shouldn't be in the trailers. I don't watch red band trailers for the same reason.

So, these are a series of videos made by Kees van Dijkhuizen

These are god damned amazing. Also great was his [the films of] series, a Cinema-style supercut of all of the movies of 12 filmmakers (well, 11 filmmakers and Pixar):

Fun fact: Kees is 18 years old. Yes, that means he was 15 when he made Cinema 2008.
