Amazing OPs. But just to be an rear end in a top hat... Can we get any info on workstation graphics cards? I was tasked with putting together a CAD PC for my last job (which never happened sadly) and got lost researching the Quadro and Firepro cards. I know most of their differences are drivers, but the newer architecture seems to be able to do some really amazing things with regards to in-software rendering. Plus they always sport crazy numbers that are fun to nerd out on. I spent way too much time comparing the FirePro 4800 to the Quadro 600 in each program and application, configuring builds with absurd core counts.

PhysX seems to only enable the cutting edge WDC feature (wafting-drop-cloth) in a few select games. See here and here. Pretty deal breaking IMO.

Sorry, meant low profile. There's never gonna be a competent low profile video card is there? The 6670 is about as good as it gets right now.

So putting the 660ti in SLI should make for a setup that blows away the equivalently priced single 670, shouldn't it?

How long did it take for the 760 to arrive after the 770 and 780 were released? It seems like a 960 would be the perfect companion for a budget 1080P mITX computer based around the Pentium G3258. I'm hoping to upgrade to one around the release of GTAV.

Would it be crazy to replace my GTX 460 with a GTX 970 without upgrading my 300 watt PSU? It's in a Shuttle so replacing the PSU would mean replacing half the system. Everything I can find online says the 970 will only use 4 more watts than my 460, which hasn't caused any power issues in 3+ years.

My i3 2100T has been amazing at every game thrown at it. I'm hoping to upgrade to a 970 and still don't expect to feel any slack on the CPU end. A 2500K should be absolutely fine.

In this review the i3 is 4 fps slower than an equivalent i5, but 10 fps faster than an FX-8350. Doesn't seem crazy in a budget gaming system. I'm holding out for the GTX 960, which will hopefully sip even less power than it's bigger siblings. Reports suggest it will have 4GB and a 256-bit interface with only shaders sacrificed. Should be the perfect 1080p gaming card.

The 295X2 is a real product that I can buy today, and I don't think a 390X-based setup will be able to touch the value proposition with R200 prices where they are today. That new Titan benchmark chart made me think the exact same thing. The 295X2 is a really good value.

The low TDP of the 970 was a major selling point for me. A Zotac 970 replaced a noisy GTX 460 without having to upgrade my 300 watt Shuttle PSU. Runs noticeably quieter. The R9 290 wasn't a feasible alternative, and Wither 3 runs great with a measly little 35 watt i3 2100T.

AMD is doing the right thing by sweeping the rug out of Nvidia's founders editions gouging bullshit. They could've priced the 480 at current GTX 970 prices (same performance, ~$300 price tag), but instead they're listening to the consumers and chipping away at Nvidia's monopoly. Seriously, $800 for a 1080? Nvidia has had it too good for too long. And I"m saying that as a GTX 980 owner. Good on AMD.

It's a bummer that the 480 isn't better. I'd hoped it would compete with the GTX 980 to help push prices down. Now instead of paying $$$ for a replacement of my 970 or a new monitor, I sprung for a Vive headset. Honestly it's about the price of a 1080 or XB271HU and it'll probably feel like a much more significant upgrade.
