Question for those who have it already: do the large monsters(cyclops, chimera, etc.) respawn? I never saw that explained so I am kinda curious.

is this game trolling me or are rabbits an actual thing?
I've been out in the morning noon and night looking for the little bastards and I have yet to see one. goblins, wolves and bandits aplenty but no rabbits

I always run into rabbits on the pathway from Cassardis to the little fort thing.

I have a question though: In Witchwood, when can I fight the golem by the Witch's house? I've only done like, two of the quests that Ser Maximillian gives you, so I have yet to talk to the Duke, if that's any indication.

Holy drat, is Exequy one of the best spells or what.

Fighting the Drake, one of my strider pawns knocks it out of the air, so it lands on it's side, when my Sorcerer pawn casts it, and knocks off 3 life bars in one hit.

Does anyone know where to find or what I need to combine to make Sour Ambrosial Meat? That fucker Valmiro wants some.

I've had a lot of luck getting regular Ambrosial meat from boars/pigs, so kill some and get lucky, then wait a few days, I suppose?

Aaaaaaah I accidentally corrupted my save game after about 10 hours and lost everything. I was just starting to unlock some of the fun skills of Mystic Knight. I wish this game didn't just have one save and slot.

Oh well, lets me start over and try out the strider/magic archer. Playing through them again makes me realize how pointless some of the early game quests are, especially the escort quests. Huge waste of time.

The escort quests are good for raising affinity with certain NPCs, and also for getting Madeleine's shop, which has some fairly decent stuff available in it.

edit: Speaking of escort quests, is it just me or does the game decide that, no, you should never be able to escort someone simply from point A to point B. In the one for Selene, where you escort her to the Healing Spring, I fought a griffon, a chimera, and two cyclopses on the backwards-rear end way to the spring that I took. But goddamn did it feel good when I finished it without her being damaged even once :smug:

Bah, the goblin-infested fortress. So, I infiltrated and cleared out the courtyard okay, though the drat fiery ballista, I guess it is kept things interesting. I open the gate and let the guys in, but my pawns are pinned down by said fiery ballistas, and my mage refuses to come down into the drat stairwell before healing himself, and thus gets another giant burning arrow through the chest. I don't even get to join the main battle before I apparently fail the mission.

If you can get to the ballista on your side of the fortress, switch it to Explosive shot and fire just above where the other ballistas are firing. The arrows should fall directly into the goblin assholes manning them, then you have free reign to just gently caress everyone up with the ballista.

How bad of an idea is it to go from a more melee focused character to a magic one? Note that, I am level 41 and have not even touched Mage/Sorcerer.

Basically anything given to you by the citizenry. So Grimoire, the Wakestone, Quina, the eviction, etc. I've never seen citizenry quests handed out beyond the starting town and the capital, so if there are any others in the far corners of the land then welp.

Board quests are exempt from this as far as I know. I've even seen some low level escort quests crop back up on my boards periodically (I think this is the perceived "it's bullshit some quests expire randomly" complaint that I've read a few times?)

Did you get it to enrage? I don't think some people see enraged golems judging by the youtubes I looked for, and those people are definitely missing out. Enraged golems are great!

An enraged golem threw one of my pawns through the game world, so there's that.

Good tip for earning money a not-so-easy way: selling dragonforged golden weapons. A dragonforged golden bastard sells for a little over 300k, and you can buy them at the black cat for a little over 100k. Not sure if forgeries sell for as much, though.

Also, anyone care to post your "and then Dragon's Dogma really clicked with me moment"?

I think it really clicked with me when I found out that, no matter what your level/weapons/etc, if you aren't paying attention you can still get killed by practically everything. Not too many games are like that, these days(Outside of Demons/Dark Souls)

To answer the dragon question it goes to an ending cutscene where your pawn is the Duke of Gransys, but so utterly, utterly alone

I purposely gave Mercedes a whole shitload of Cloudwine, and I ended up with Madeleine.

And then in the final, final final cutscene, when you wash up on the beach, I got Selene. Which really makes me wonder what my pawn was doing.

After beating the game, I love the little details towards the ultimate end of it

Specifically, when you kill the drake in Devilfire Grove, how he says "The seat of god lies beyond", or something along those lines. It's like the dragon types know that they only serve a purpose in the world of challenging the Arisen to rise above mere mortality

Are griffons supposed to sometimes just fly off after a pass or two or was that a bug?

Also, coolest moment of the game so far: landing a full bend right into an ogre's face and forcing it to go down flat on its belly.

If you are a sorcerer, the best way to keep a griffin grounded is to cast Comestion/High Comestion on him as soon as he lands(It tends to burn his wings, rendering him incapable of flight). Otherwise, if you aren't, then Flask of Oil/Burst Arrow(If you're a bow user) or Dragon's Spit/Throwblast tends to do the same thing

Fire Affinity on the bow works just fine. Remember to aim for the wings.

I noticed something while just tooling around the map beating the poo poo out of things: A chimera, who didn't notice me or my pawns yet, just leaping around and rolling, playing like a cat, albeit a very large cat, with a goat head on his spine and a snake for a tail.

It was kind of cute.

So my brother decided to pick this game up, based on watching me play it when he was over for Labor day, and he told me a grand tale of swords and heroics from my pawn:

(Early game spoilers)
He had hired my level 62 fighter pawn, and was proceeding to do the Everfall quest where you see what's goin on at the bottom of it. When he came to the ogre, my pawn said "I know what to do!" or something along those lines, and jumped on his back. The ogre proceeded to run off the edge of the cliff and kill himself, but my pawn jumped off onto a ledge before that happened.

This game :allears:
