It really breaks up the gameplay unnecessarily. "My lord! Grab hold! I shall send you to the beast!" [Gameplay pauses and camera swoops over to focus on pawn's clasped hands]

Dear lord, people have no imagination. I did a search for mage pawns, summoned the top 5 on the list that had the healing spell (I can't be assed to heal in battle!) and literally 5 redhead girls of various hairstyles come walking out of the mist. The next 3 or 4 searches were virtually the same. It was like some bizzaro version of Children of the Corn. What is it with people creating mostly short girl mage pawns?

Also, I was upset that Xbox didn't let me keep my demo pawn's name. It might say Betty above your head, but you'll always be Bitchtits in my heart :sigh:

How do I tell my pawn to shut the gently caress up?

It's not explained well for an element that killed a lot of my enjoyment of this game. Sit down in the Command Chair after you rest at an inn. Second question should be something like: "Would you like me to be more talkative or more quiet?" For some loving reason, this is a yes/no question. Yes = Blather on about absolutely nothing useful. No = I'll be quieter save for quest info, responses to commands, etc.

Also, find the option to turn off the onscreen text for pawns.

See, I haven't had that question come up yet. All the questions I get seem to refer to the pawn's tone/attitude.

I've only had the question asked by using the chair after staying at the inn and my pawn coming back from someone else. Using it randomly never seemed to cause the question to come up.

At what point can I change my vocation/class/whatever. I hit level 25 on Strider and I've realized it's a jack of all trades class that doesn't specialize very well, leaving it with mediocre damage and horrible survivablity. It's a shame because I like the class, but I'm getting tired of watching the loading screen. It feels like playing Strider is like playing DD on hard mode and the deaths just feel cheap, sucking out the fun.

I feel bad about the person in this thread who didn't find exploring very rewarding. This game is TEEMING with hidden poo poo. I love it. Lots of stuff hidden away in little cracks, on top of hills, only found by leaping across narrow valleys, etc. I've been to Bloodwater Beach several times, but it wasn't until exploring around this time that I found that cave hidden away in the bluffs after leaping a valley.

Also, it was plenty exciting mining ancient ore and blastrock (only place I've found those thus far) from an ore node in Devilfire Grove pissing off the drake and then running the gently caress away while my pawns distracted it. :keke:

Is it my imagination or are the items that larger monsters drop affected by how you kill it? My usual way of killing a cyclops was to just stab it in the back of the neck neck repeatedly until dead. I've killed somewhere around 20 or so, but never realized they can drop a misshapen eyeball until I changed up my tactics and went specifically for stabbing it in the eye. I'm two for two now when I manage to stab its eye a few times before it dies.

Golems seem to drop different items if you manage to kill it while it's enraged. I've killed six of them. The first four I killed normally and they always dropped copper ore and magick seals. The last two I've killed while enraged and they dropped much more rare ore.

Are there any other changes to loot tables that anyone has noticed? Or is this just confirmation basis on my part?

^^ Strider or Assassin. Assassin has a Gouge sword attack which just does brutal damage. Rank 7 strider arm-strength augment = 420 hang on monsters everyday

Anyone know if the assassin's Toxicity augment works for poison arrows?

So the trick to getting the Golden Idol seems to be achieving the perfect result.

While escorting Symone, you have to stay close to her. If she ever asks you if you're trying to ditch her you already failed. Start over if that happens. When she plays hide-and-seek, she's either in the Inn or the Alehouse. Find her immediately. She'll then ask for some water, just carry a flask of water on you and give it to her immediately. When she races, let her win. You know you'll get the Golden Idol if you talk to her at Fournival's house and she asks if you're a good friend of her father's and if she'll see you again.

Yeah, that's what I loving figured. I accidentally pressed X near the Command Chair when she was in the inn. She bugged out about halfway through the questions and popped inside my character model running around and around in a circle. When my pawn stopped talking, Symone asked if I had tried to ditch her. Of course it loving saves before you receive your give so it was already too late once I received my golden egg. So I'm locked out of the best weapons of the game now? Love it when they make quests inscrutable as gently caress. :sigh:

It's possible but probably not until later in the game when you don't need as much support or someone to heal/dispel. In fact, there's an assassin augment that boosts stats substantially only if you are alone. You can use augments on any class once you unlock them.

Man, gifting pawns you really like with lamps and a couple of flasks of oil is a brilliant idea, seeing how no pawn I've journeyed with has carried one.

Only equipment travels with pawns, not items. I'm imagining someone out there screaming after resting at an in "I ALREADY HAVE 20 loving LAMPS! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP SENDING THEM?!" :argh:

AHAHAHAH! YES!!! I decided to go back to Ur-Dragon to fight it online with this "Welp, time to go grind" attitude, only to be surprised as he spawned in at 0% health. Cue me and my pawns frantically trying to hit each spot once, wrapping that up in 15 seconds.

Thank you so much, people on the internet. Now to begin my new life as Fantasy Albert Wesker and change my pawn into Jill Valentine.

Post pics please!
