You're thinking of the melting point of mercury, which is -37.9F/--38.9C at standard pressure - looks like to get mercury to be solid at room temperature you'd have to increase pressure to 10kbar, which offers some diifficulty in filming (Source: The Phase Diagrams of the Elements. https://www.osti.gov/servlets/purl/4010212/).
