I don't know if this counts or not, since it's from a TV show, but in the British superhero show Misfits the recreation center where all the superpowered kids have to do their work is the Wertham Community Center. In the 50s in the US, Dr. Wertham was the author of a book that was critical of the sex, delinquency, depravity and violence contained in comics and that he thought comic books caused.
