No really 'subtle', but I've been watching The Expanse and it has one of my favourite little background interactions/gags. https://youtu.be/8OpBaxiDWrg Bobbie just going goblin mode on the hors d'oeuvres while Tense Political poo poo is happening in the foreground is frankly delightful.

Cat Hatter posted:What season is this from? I'm still putting off watching the last season and I'm not about to risk spoiling myself on anything now. 1 or 2, you're fine watching it. It's a very short clip with no plot centric dialogue at all anyway. Each time it cuts to her she's more enthusiastic, it's great

If I were Skynet I would simply timeshift a bunch of abortificants surrounded by a permiable flesh membrane into the water supply of whatever city Sarah Connor was living in prior to John's birth. Beep Boop so simple.

Pixar's Coco is amazing in that every time the scene at the end where Miguel sings to Coco comes on, Pixar sends people to sneak into your house and finely dice a bunch of onions directly next to your face, but you can never actually see them.

flavor.flv posted:Mystery Men is great and if it had come out just five years later it would have smashed box office records It absolutely suffered from being way ahead of its time, and remains one of like 3 movies with Ben Stiller in it that a can stand to watch. The payoff to "I heard he can cut guns in half with his mind" and the invisible boy are loving gold.

If none of you can recognise the comedic potential of Van Helsing being played (completely straight and with no realisation from any other character or mugging at the camera) by the Count then I'm not sure we can be friends.

Torquemada posted:I'm surprised that no one has tacked Fireflies onto the end of Overfiend, so the kids are trying to survive the hellworld brought about by the return of the Chojin. I would like you to consider extremely carefully why nobody has previously suggested introducing small innocent child characters to one of Anime's most notorious rape pornos.

Ghost Leviathan posted:Also very fitting given the story is pretty much narrated, Dickens himself apparently performed readings of it as much as he could, starting with for charity. It's always had a very bedtime story vibe to it, including a lot of visual elements that are very hard to do without taking major liberties to the point where it's not surprised all the adaptations tend to just use existing characters or do whatever comes to mind. Which to be fair is also valid or at least a lot of fun. GLOW had an amazing episode where the wrestling promotion puts on a production of A Christmas Carol that leads up to the Ghost of Christmas Future bodyslamming Scrooge into their own grave.

Captain Monkey posted:GLOW was so good. Zroya hating being a heel at the end of season 1 and just loving eating up the boos at the end of season 2. Liberty's Eureka moment of "it's a soap opera!" Wolf girl doing Liza Minelli ("you'll never be as good as your mother!"). Dagnabbit there were so many great moments and nice little touches in that show. Fuckin' Netflix cancelling it was a real drag.

Fury Road is an absolute masterclass and I would argue the greatest action movie of all time. Miller just absolutely crushing it and returning to his franchise with the budget and experience to polish every aspect to a mirror shine. The level of practical effects work is utterly staggering and everyone should watch the DVD extras/making of material (I believe it's on YouTube) because the amount of craft that went into this film is mind-blowing and arguably should have resulted in a directorial Oscar. The fact that they built all (and subsequently destroyed most) of the vehicles in the film rather than just making GBS threads out a bunch of CGI is amazing and at the very least you should watch the behind the scenes on the cars because it's fascinating.

Aphrodite posted:I don't even have anything in my mug, I just carry it to flex on those other bitches. It's a limited edition. For some reason your post gave me a surrealist image in my head of a bunch of Disney adults, each of whom spends their one week of paid time off per year queueing up at Disney World only to immediately enter, grab that seasons limited edition mug, and immediately leave again, sitting around a boardroom table and comparing the mugs like in the scene in American psycho with the business cards.

Fallout lore chat is forever poisoned by a pedantic fanbase largely spawned from the No Mutants Allowed webforum; some of whom wish to disregard Fallout 2 canon because it's too tonally different from Fallout 1, and some of whom are critical of elements of the original Fallout's canon because it's too dissimilar to Wasteland, a completely unrelated post apocalyptic rpg.
