The real fun of living wisely is that you get to be smug about it.

I've inherited a D5200 with a couple of kit lenses that my grandpa can't use any more. It's in good shape but needs a good cleaning. I haven't had a real camera since college. What cleaning kit/supplies should I pick up?

I also need a charger and some fresh batteries, are the Amazon cheapos good enough for casual use?

god please help me posted:

where are people buying second-hand cameras safely?

MPB and KEH are both reputable sites with big inventories, warranties, and good prices. The used market is pretty efficient.

Hey that's my PnS!

I took some neat lunar eclipse photos with it back before I owned any real camera gear.

Just the same model, I've still got mine in a drawer.

The only solution I've tried so far is a regular Peak Design shoulder strap, hooked to the tripod foot, which works well enough on the wide-open preserve trails I visit. The camera rests upside-down against my waist as I'm walking around and it's always accessible (though I wouldn't call it "low ready"). I don't carry a backpack so I can swing the camera to rest against my back when I need to step off-trail.
