hadji murad posted:Farmers who are encouraged to vote by a local leader for the people giving them the most subsidies (LDP) I remember reading it somewhere that in Japanese politics farmers, and the countryside in general, are overrepresented because of some quirks of the voting system and good ol' lobbying & corruption. Is this true? Would seem kind of odd with Japan being one of the most urbanised countries in the world and all.
