I don't have any videos handy, but I recently dealt with a pretty hilarious Dark Souls glitch. On PC the game is locked at 30 FPS and there's a fan-made patch that lets you (among other things) disable this limit. The problem is that the game's collisions and physics are built around the framerate, so when you have the game running butter-smooth at 60 FPS enemy corpses bounce around like popcorn popping and running over one will send it launching into the stratosphere. It's pretty funny until a corpse goes flying before you can loot it, or when you have to quit the game because you got stuck in a ladder. Also, it's a little thing but sometimes in the new XCOM remake your character kind of spazzes out with regards to the environment around them. Things like turning around to smash a window that isn't even in the line of fire before shooting or having bullets erupt from a gun at 90-degree angles is never not funny.

Speaking of Arma II this one is sort of amazing. For context, it's fairly simple to make custom missions for Arma II. Some are amazing, some are poo poo and then there's this. I suppose what stands out the most was it's made by Rocket, the creator of DayZ. Wait for the ending on this, it sort of draws it all together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0vC8yF6LsY (And yes, this is a video from me and some friends but I just love showing it off since it sorta goes to show that Rocket has always been a bit ) Edit: The mission description makes things just that much better all things considered: Description: From the author of Island Twilight comes a compelling, fast paced mission packed with action and surprises at every corner. You and your team-mates of Bravo troop must rescue Michael Sadler, who travelled to Iraq as part of an investigation into alleged human rights volations by the new Iraqi National Army. He was kidnapped by an Al-Quaeda cell near the border, and rushed out of the country. Features: Compelling, fast paced, mission Voice guide provides information through mission Dynamic objective locations, each playthrough is different Smart AI helicopter interactions Norrin revive script Tracula has a new favorite as of 02:33 on Nov 3, 2012 |

Kept reloading the shotgun so that you'd never have to reload again, put like a hundred shells in there.

That glitch also happens in TF2 sometimes. Though it doesn't give you infinite ammo, it just plays the reloading animation until you fire or switch weapons.

I was playing Just Cause 2 and a rebel fighter got on the burnt-out husk of a destroyed motorcycle and started driving it away very calmly, only falling off when it disappeared a few seconds later. Made the healthy motorcycle noise too, even. I had a good laugh about it.

I had a pretty weird glitch in Battlefield 3 the other day. I'm terrible at jets and got attacked pretty quickly, but I didn't die, and my plane didn't explode. I just lost all control, I couldn't turn or slow down or anything. The plane just kept on going and going.

One of my favorites is a physics glitch I encountered in Day Z, I was traveling at night with some friends when I stepped on a small rock, and stepping off of it somehow caused me to break my legs. We initially assumed we were under attack, before realizing that it was the rock that caused it.

This happened last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syECn2MgcJA Assassin's Creed III is glitchy as hell. Fun though, and most of the glitches are amusing. It's not immediately obvious, but the two-stroke motor noise is actually the sound of the guys bumping into each other.

Three times I analyzed a clue left by an animal and Connor froze while apparently suffering a seizure. I had to leave the Animus to fix it. Although, yes, there's the floating weapons and the occasional flying puma and there was one instance in Revelations that I also experienced in III that I'm not sure is an actual physics bug or if the devs were having fun where I shot an enemy and their weapon went flying three stories into the air and that was fun to watch.

One of the first hilarious glitches I've seen was around when Half-Life came out, on the un-updated CD version. I was escorting an old scientist, he was standing on the stairs in one of the 360 stairwells, and I decided to bash his head in and try and kill him. He magically got stuck in the stairs and gibs started flying everywhere. Hundreds of gibs. I think I had to wash my monitor.

In Skyrim, I thought it would be a barrel of jokes if I started collecting/stealing plates and cups and dumping them in the alchemy room of my house in Whiterun. I eventually got enough items so that half of the room was filled. I shut the door and decided to start diving around the room, Scrooge McDuck style. Except that when I jumped on top of the alchemy table I started to fall through the floor and after a few seconds of flashing white and blue, I ended up outside my house, minus the annoying PS3 load time it usually takes.

Cauldrons are reliable one way phasing devices in Skyrim. Flip one over, put it on the floor, and jump on top. You will almost always fall through into the room below you! Or just fall to your death if you're outside. Also works by pressing one against a wall in your hands and using the speed boost shout.

I'm thinking about setting up my camera to record me playing Assassin's Creed III for an hour and then just editing it down to 45 minutes of glitch material. At this point I'm laugh sobbing and even my wife (who cares gently caress all for video games) has commented that the game is completely broken. Every time I summon Assassin recruits in New York they spawn on the roof as normal but never get to kill the targets on the ground because they get stuck in an endless "run face first into this chimney forever" loop. Recruits also like to get confused when facing multiple groups of enemies. I saw one spin around and put his hands on the wall, only to get stabbed to death by a soldier. I assume he got stuck in the "brace against a wall to climb or push off it" animation, but it was very police brutality. While I was on a lock picking chest spree, the lock pick went a little higher with each box until I was weaving magical circles over the chest to open it. Horses. Horses are all broken all the time. Did a side mission where even the AI couldn't get their horse to behave and got stuck on a bush, making me fail it three times in a row. Free running, which is supposed to be better, is so much worse. Just running down the street, Connor will get distracted and try to run up a wall or pile of barrels you can't actually climb anyway. Great for time-sensitive or chase quests. The amazing detail of the animation (three different ways to jump over a fence, the way his feet and legs actually try to stand on the terrain) gets marred by scripting. When running past a group of alerted guards, I juked around them and then suddenly just stood there so one could grab me from behind. The funniest so far have been carriages calmly pushing aside a row of soldiers at attention and an npc wandering into a cutscene, getting stuck on a chair and merging with Connor while he argued with another character. Then when the scene ended collision detection kicked back in and the npc went flying.
