Actually, while I don't have the game anymore - I think all you had to do was stop Sonic from moving. It didn't matter how fast he was going, his feet would always be on the ground. Rather than program the game to keep propelling Sonic forward or locking the controls or something - they just said "gently caress it, nobodies going to try going backwards anyway" and moved on to something more important like making the Dolphin freak the gently caress out.

Assuming nobody would go backwards in Sonic 06 also lead to this gem:

I'm not sure whether this is a glitch per-se, but my friend and I both unlocked the frog bombs in BattleBlock Theater, which walk along the floors and walls until they find a target. We found that they had some... interesting properties when interacting with another frog.

The Bethesda console command ones are fun, definitely, but the best monsters so far are Christopher Christopher "The Pebble" Christopher Christopher and the Boy Mayor of Second Life, because they're absolute abominations, but done entirely in-game with no mods at all.

Nah, I think the little bit is the way to go. But just, like, a little little bit. Like, having this conversation disqualifies all three of us, you need somebody who's like "Oh, that game, I saw it at jumbo video a couple of times when I was renting mario kart. We should bring that back, it looked pretty cool" and nobody ever tells that person that there was more than one game.

At that point, why not have Sega find an Indie game or something that's mostly finished and just Sonic-like enough to pass as one, and then pay them and publish it with Sonic assets?

This is one of my favorite things in EA games. When something in the programming has decided that the goal will not be scored, but the graphical circumstances won't allow for it. So it makes some interesting decisions with how the human body moves and works. Normally they just teleport people. Sometimes it's more fun like this.

I'll second this. I thought SotC was fantastic, and is one of my all-time favorites. Ico, on the other hand, felt boring right from the get-go, and I never really played much of it in the end.

The thing you're climbing having some agency in the matter and having to manage your grip during your climb gave everything this inherently tense feeling that, if Ico every got to it, I never did.

Yeah, its more like, you have (45 + 40 + 37 + 30)/4 as your average power level. Removing the Item gives you (45 + 40 + 37)/3 which increases the average by a significant amount.

A friend explained to me that mostly its done this way because it is easier to program than doing it so that it calculates a empty slot properly. Perhaps its because you have to write a exception for when a slot is empty so you don't get divide by zero? I dunno.

Wouldn't it be easier to just always be dividing by the maximum number of pieces of gear?

Actors in comedy movies are just actors. What they're doing and saying is all scripted, not real conversations or actions. Not sure why people think it's funny, everyone in the scene knows the lines beforehand.
