https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXTAK9BR_qk I don't know if cartridge-tilting counts, but at least part of my enjoyment is because of the Japanese meme it spawned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q07tonhZre0 The pause and looking around before resuming wall-humping makes this.

Barudak posted:It's fighter maker. A game with the promise of making your own fighter down to their movements and animations. Which almost nobody did because that is both really tedious and the in game system was absolutely atrocious. Don't want to use the default? Hope you like making what was effectively stop motion slides for each of the parts of the punch. The best part was the animation didn't have to have any correlation to the move itself so you could make a self inflicted crotch punch a full-screen super for instant KOs. There was a Japanese baseball game with a similar customization mechanic and the end results were just as ridonkulous: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gjfZABX8Kw

Suspicious Dish posted:The Super Mario World TAS glitch was found by a Japanese player. The TASVideos people reverse engineered the run the Japanese player made, and figured it out. Different strokes and all, but this is exactly why I don't enjoy these kinds of speedruns. Ones that are based on incredible displays of skill or taking advantage of weird quirks of gameplay (like the Deus Ex one where the guy skips entire parts of the game by using grenades to climb walls), but when it's at the point where you're pretty much hacking the game through legitimate inputs it loses a lot of the magic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc5rB-0ZBcI

I don't have any videos handy, but I recently dealt with a pretty hilarious Dark Souls glitch. On PC the game is locked at 30 FPS and there's a fan-made patch that lets you (among other things) disable this limit. The problem is that the game's collisions and physics are built around the framerate, so when you have the game running butter-smooth at 60 FPS enemy corpses bounce around like popcorn popping and running over one will send it launching into the stratosphere. It's pretty funny until a corpse goes flying before you can loot it, or when you have to quit the game because you got stuck in a ladder. Also, it's a little thing but sometimes in the new XCOM remake your character kind of spazzes out with regards to the environment around them. Things like turning around to smash a window that isn't even in the line of fire before shooting or having bullets erupt from a gun at 90-degree angles is never not funny.

New Vegas was so glitchy that it wasn't until I went on the internet that I realized that Victor re-spawning after you killed him was supposed to happen (he's an AI that can re-download itself into a new body) and not the game loving up a value somewhere.

The XCOM remake has a randomized naming system for missions, Operation Dark Darkness amused me way more than it should have.
