SperginMcBadposter posted:I think he added it manually with the way it covers everything but the cars. Yeah I guessed that, sarcasm doesn't play well over the internet. Though maybe if you were shooting full frame with an adapter micro 4/3rds lens you could get it naturally. Personally I feel the vignetting slider along with clarity and saturation should be played with very carefully in lightroom.

Hey, so I'm usually pretty shite at photography, but every once in a while I think I manage to do alright. Photodump incoming. I've been really favoring using my 24mm F2.8, shooting on a T3i. I feel like I tend to oversaturate my photos but it kinda feels like they'd be boring otherwise. I'm still trying to learn. v can you be a little more specific? I want to try to get better. The leaves on the tree's are what really bugs me, just no definition on them, an uninteresting greyish blob. I tend to just edit things for the imgur large thumbnail size to look decent on forum posts, the full res leaves much to be desired for sure. Plus I'm pretty sure I'm not using the entirely correct technique to do selective color which paired with sloppy editing only looks passable when viewed as the imgur large thumb. The point is not that you did selective coloring incorrectly. The point is that selective color is a cliché. It's also an obvious effect that distracts the viewer's attention from whatever is being photographed. Don't rely on heavy-handed post-processing to compensate for problems with pictures that could have been worked out in the pre-shot phase. If there's a distracting object or group of objects in your picture, seek a composition that excludes those objects.

TheJeffers posted:The point is that selective color is a cliché. Oh, I guess if you're not really exposed to it too much it doesn't really set off that alarm in your head. I liked it since I've never tried it before and I don't really see it around all that much (which makes sense if it's considered cliché). I didn't think of using it to compensate for problems with the picture but rather to use to break up the monotony of having hundreds of pictures of the same subject and trying something different with a few shots. Anyway, it's as bad a photographic sin as using photoshop HDR or funky filters, is it? Well, here's a picture to balance out the text.

Hey. This was from Waterfest a few weeks ago. Still haven't mastered the panning shot but considerring I am using a M4/3 camera with a $100 lens, I could be doing worse. It was also 98 degrees out so the sun was brutal, both for shooting and on my skin which turned red due to forgetting to bring sunscreen. 2 of my favorites from a skid pan day I went to. Nissan Skyline R34 Coupe by asb, on Flickr Ford Falcon XR6T FG by asb, on Flickr All of the good photos I took I had to crop a lot, taking pics of moving cars is really hard. I personally think the skyline picture is much better composed than the falcon one, but do you guys have any tips or stuff for next time? I was shooting by hand with a 55-250, trying to keep my shutter speed at atleast 1000 wherever possible. underage at the vape shop fucked around with this message at 22:24 on Oct 12, 2015 |

For me it was making sure I had a good and steady grip. As fast a shutter as possible and use afc. Also lining up shots by keeping both eyes open helps and don't be afraid to fire off a bunch in continuous.
