While losing hamilton isn't exactly "optimal", the news that the expansion gauntlet isn't happening at least means that I have free liscense to experiment! New Lineup v. both: RF Reggie Jackson 1B Don Mincher C Mike Napoli 3b Adrian Beltre 2B Michael Young LF Nelson Cruz CF Ken Berry (until Monday gets back, then put him in) P SS Elvis Andrus Aparicio is demoted to AAA to call up Andrus. As for pitching - Neftali Feliz and Alexei Ogando temporarily move to the 4 and 5 slots, with Wood/John going to middle relief. On the trade front, I'm still looking for an Outfielder or Shortstop of the competent variety, if anyone has one they are willing to part with.

I'm not super interested in trading Hamilton. Expansion cup results aren't what i'm going for here! Am willing to put up Adams if the deal is right, though.

The Goog posted:Superbas! You clearly need an upgrade at first base. You've seen what Mike Napoli is capable of, and it isn't pretty. My Mooglies recently acquired Hank Greenberg, so we no longer require the services of 2009 Travis Hafner. Before his demotion, he was one of our best hitters; he's only on the bench because he is exclusively a first baseman, and we already had Greenberg and Jeff Bagwell. Hello friend! I am definitely willing to part with relievers, but i'm not so convinced that Hafner is so much better than a second round pick would be. Is there something else you would like?

The Goog posted:I was hoping to get the pick because of the flexibility it offers, but I totally understand your desire to hang onto it. Would you be willing to move just Feliz for Hafner? If you're really excited about the pick we can talk about one of your other 1Bs. Upgrading to a slightly better platoon left 1B doesn't excite me, but you have some righty bats that absolutely do.

Available to trade would be - Approximately one pithcer of your choosing, starting or relief. Don Mincher: a very quality platoon bat (DO NOT USE HIM AGAINST LEFTIES). An outfielder - your choice of Hamilton, Killebrew, or Beltran, depending on the amount of value you're willing to offer. Bert Campnaris/Luis Aparicio - highly effective defensive-minded backup shortstops. An okay third baseman - Either Sal Bando or Adrian Beltre, depending on your predilection towards either offense or defense. Things I need: A catcher who is competent at hitting baseballs (most pressing need!) Other than that, a high value starting pitcher, second baseman, or third baseman would also be much appreciated. OR anything that is surplus to your requirements. Thank you for your interest in acquiring Superbas players!! Nerokerubina fucked around with this message at 00:07 on Oct 16, 2012 |
