Swap Gallardo and Pollett. Pollett can't possibly be worse, right? RIGHT??? Put White at leadoff and McCutcheon on the bench. Replace Corey Hart with Gary Sheffield and bat him 6th, moving Walker Cooper to 7th.

I think the Mudholes' hitting lineup is, well, not horrifying except for their defense. The pitching staff could use a lot of work, though. I know I need starters, but the pen seems pretty mediocre as well. I'm assuming I should focus on the rotation and pick up an RP if there are any decent ones left? Also, do the players selected in the draft just get added to our rosters or do we need to make corresponding drops?

Before I forget, the Mudholes list should go something like this: Best SP available Best 2B available Best SP available Best, um, SS available Best RP available If I get the time to research, I'll post again with actual preferred players.

I won my first challenge! and then Kevin Brown got run over by a drunk Badger fan. Because of those two things, week 2 will need wholesale changes. Here we go: Insert 82 Robin Yount at starting SS. Renteria to the bench. Neil Walker to the minors. *Reconfigured lineup will look like this:* With DH: 3B:Whitey Kurowski (1943 Cardinals) SS:Robin Yount (1982 Brewers) RF:Stan Musial (1943 Cardinals) LF:Ryan Braun (2011 Brewers) 1B:Prince Fielder (2011 Brewers) DH:Gary Sheffield (1996 Marlins) CF:Andrew McCutchen (2012 Pirates) C:Walker Cooper (1943 Cardinals) 2B:Red Schoendienst (1949 Cardinals) without DH: Just sit Sheffield and move everyone up a spot. SP 9th. Kevin Brown is injured. Move Gallardo to the rotation. Make him 4th. Also, make Clemens first and move Pollet to 2nd. Bring up Brecheen to replace Gallardo in the pen. *New rotation and bullpen look like this:* SP:Roger Clemens (1995 Red Sox) SP:Howie Pollet (1943 Cardinals) SP:Al Leiter (1996 Marlins) SP:Yovani Gallardo (2011 Brewers) SP:Bob Lemon (1946 Indians) Bullpen: CL:Rob Nenn (1996 Marlins) SU:John Axford (2011 Brewers ) SR:Francisco Rodriguez (2011 Brewers) SR:Jason Grilli (2012 Pirates) MR:Max Lanier (1943 Cardinals) MR:Harry Brecheen (1943 Cardinals)

Good God the offense those first 2 weeks was terrible, but I'm not a knee-jerk kinda guy. That rotation still could use another arm, though. Challenge time! I'll put up my 2nd round pick, '96 Devon White, and '96 Edgar Renteria for a *-challenge try at '26 Urban Shocker. I can do that right? I'm just gonna tell myself I can do it. He may or may not help, but I need to do something with the rotation. Also, having an 80 name tool on my team can't hurt.

Celebration time! 4 weeks, 4 wins baby! Wh- Wha- What do you mean this isn't football? Pretty sure I must be right up there with the worst start ever. Perhaps it's because the Mudholes have developed Bad Team Syndrome. In Madison, the cure for BTS is the same as for everything else that ails you. Just drink until your liver falls off and then you won't have anything to worry about. Let's see. I could...hmmm. What if I...hmmm. Well, when Kevin Brown is done being injured, let him replace the gently caress out of Howie Pollet. I'll leave Clemens in because there is no conceivable way his ERA stays north of 7 the rest of the way. Wanna see something hilarious? Move Braun to 3B and bench Kurowski. Put Sheffield in LF and DH Corey Hart. gently caress it. Bat Hart leadoff and put McCutcheon at #9 when there is a DH. Week 5's goal: 2 wins!!

Finger-Bangers: '97 Alomar '71 Sutton '02 Zito I like this, but it just seems like there is something missing. Perhaps a late pick or OF/RP body as a filler? Cultists: Ryne Sandberg - Carlton or Martinez - Larry Walker - Frank Smith - Kim Byung Hung - Free Merc Services for any challenge except those I am planning to make myself. Your inclusion of Sandberg is keeping you in this race. Carlton is acceptable and Larry Walker ups the ante. Not sure how much I have to have him right now though, considering my pitching and infield woes. Frank Smith I see as a back-end starter/long reliever, which is ok. Kim is filler. The team challenge use is a real wildcard here. Right now I am on the fence.

When McCutchen gets done being injured... you know, this McCutchen is really pissing me off. Do not return McCutchen to the regular lineup when he is heeled. Keep using Corey Hart. Also, Yount should hit 6th, moving everyone else down. Use Rodriguez as the setup man and put Axford as the 2nd option for short relief, behind Uehara. That is all.
