The first time I post in the stupid poo poo on cars thread? It gets closed... so I'm cross posting this poo poo.

I don't think it's welded, I think it's bolted to the inner fibreglass tray.

Yep, they are. Ones like that are just shite for showing off, some are vaguely useful tradies as you put another one on the end of the tray for carrying long poo poo or leaning stuff against the cab.

Is that the GTO equivalent with a hitch on it? Or just some other Holden?

The gold one with the Camry on it? That's a Ford Falcon.

e: none of those cars is a VZ. The cop car is a current model VE Series 2 Commodore, a base model one, most likely with a DI 3ltr V6/6spd auto, possibly with the optional DI 3.6 (not sure what the VE2 cop cars use).

Is it? I suck at Australian cars.

The Falcon is Ford's competitor to the Commodore.

Ok so just a V6 family car? I just noticed the Toyota has a hitch mount too. Is this super common in Australia?

I6, but essentially yes.

My understanding is that in not-North America, utility hauling is done with car and trailer, rather than wastefully operating a pickup/ute/van that only meets its potential once or twice a year.

Generally the 4wd's in Aus are kinda split three ways- Theres the Normally modified ones for touring the outback and high country, then theres the retardedly huge illegal ones, then theres the late model 4wd dual cabs, running 24" tyres and rubber bands on em!

Apparently they buy the 4wd versions for the wheel clearances to fit bigger donks on em!

A tradie and his money are soon parted.
