Someone help me identify this thing

:nws: https://i.imgur.com/sYqvfDR.png :nws:

No no, I mean the car

It's not a Diablo, is it? The strakes look way too familiar to be some obscure mod.

Ah cool, the strakes are just hard to see in most usual lighting. Thanks

(e: and/or there appear to be a drat bunch of different variations on them)

That's pretty common placement on Italian engines of that sort; lots of Ferraris have it there too.

At least the oil empties out by gravity so it doesn't ALL go everywhere

Yeah, like ... how true is this? I was always under the impression the Murc was a totally new platform. AWD, way different track ... it doesn't really even look like the same general underlying shape as the Diablo.

In the grim future there will be nothing but 17 different sizes of SUV made by every company, each a micrometer-measured clone of the one made by the next company

I don't know, I haven't been too impressed with the looks of any Ferrari since they lost the 3/4 window shape of the 355 and prior.

The pointy hip window and old-man armpit-high-hiked-up-belt look under it just looks ... ugh

It's supposed to be a metaphor for how the last sprint went. I ... think we were supposed to think of things that corresponded to like, the car (things that moved us forward), or the chute (things that held us back), or the bridge (???), or the guy in the pit (??????)

You know, an easily relatable situation we've all been in. Driving our racecar over a bridge so we don't fall in and kill some guy.

I was trying to figure out why the engine was in the front or why the assumption was that the chute was like, always deployed and dragging behind you, or whether an F1 car would even be able to get over an arched bridge like that, and nobody else could make heads or tails of it either and we gave up

It's so weird how you can identify the base car from something as seemingly insignificant as the flat windshield or the pointy 3/4 window shape

Like they disguise everything else but leave one obvious clue

Folks do realise that the Countryman is the big SUV/crossover MINI and that the MINI Hatch is substantially smaller right?

Like the Hatch is a fair bit bigger than the original but the same goes for all cars.

Yes but like why bother calling it MINI anymore then.

It's like a sick joke

My favourites are the Mercedes where there's some chrome in the place of exhausts but it isn't even exhaust shaped, so it's just a suggestion that could possibly maybe have been an exhaust a long time ago before the car evolved to not need them.
