I'm sure we'll get used to it if alternative energy racing ever catches on but for now it is scary and horrible.

They sound like spaceships.
Now all they need to do is make them hover on electromagnets and we can have real life F-Zero

I know we have lots of oil left so internal combustion will be around for a good long while but it seems like the writing's on the wall.

If they reduce the rate of oil use it means they can run internal combustion for longer.
Eventually there will only be enough left for 1 racing car and a fighter jet to chase it

It seems odd that they would spend so much effort making a car in a body style that they aren't known for. You would think their first electric car would be some kind of low slung sports car instead of a small box van?

It's a hybrid rather than a full electric car but they do have the i8

I think its hilarious they think that anyone other than old people who never got anything more than a motorcycle licence would be interested in buying one of these. I had a look on their website and the absolute dirt cheapest model they do is this shitbucket.

Its impossible to find out from the website how much this would cost in the UK, and the UK is usually more expensive but a straight conversion would be £7899. So what else can you get for around that price?

Ford Ka - £8945

Ford Fiesta - £9995

Volkswagen Up - 8765

Peugeot 108 - £8245

Thats just the tip of the iceberg, almost every European manufacturer has a small, cheap and efficient hatchback that you could get brand new for a similar price as one of these Aixam shitboxes. Admittedly they are a bit more money but for that extra cash you get the added peace of mind that you won't feel embarrassed every time you go out for a drive, and that won't die a horrible death in a minor collision.

This just takes the piss though.

Keep in mind this has a top speed of 28mph.

EDIT - Should point out all these cars are barebones and have no additional options selected, including the Aixams.

Looking forward to going into the back of one of these at 70mph.
People take bikes on the A46 (a 70mph road) which is insane enough (yet perfectly legal)
They at least go down the hard shoulder, these things won't.

This was the result of someone trying to break into my door. The tumbler was actually inside the door, supposedly it is a common technique to hit the lock with a hammer and chisel in order to get at the lock inside.

They hosed up so badly it sealed the driver's door so I had to get in via the passenger door for a month until I could get it fixed.

I used to love the youtube app on my Toshiba smart tv as it would be controllable from my tablet but then the app started cutting the last 20-30 seconds of a video off which rendered it pretty pointless.

I'm still amazed that people get out of their cars on the freeway. After hearing the story about the 2 kids that basically lost their legs when some idiot hit them while they were trying to change their tire on the shoulder, whenever I break down, I just call AAA and hang out in my car.

Staying in the car won't help you if a lorry runs in to the back of you.
I was always taught if you break down on the motorway it's best to get out and get as far behind the crash barrier as possible.
