I gonna miss Tengu because he was the only original character design in any DOA game.Geight posted:So I'm really bad at any and all fighting games, but DOA4 was one of the rare ones I still enjoyed playing despite being mostly clueless. I played online a lot and racked up all the achievements for low ranks, and nobody seemed to mind that I was such a bad player because I was a pretty good sport considering I literally never won a match. Yes, DOA is still the same casual fighter in which you and your friends can enjoy. If you liked DOA4, you'll find DOA5 to be very similar especially when it comes to the stun system, which is pretty much the same as in DOA4 with some new layers for people to get their launchers and extra damage.

I didn't know there was a system for stuns! Launchers and extra damage? I can do a counter sometimes!  I'm glad that DOA5 is going to be of the same vein, because just remembering how much fun we had when I grabbed my old DOA4 copy and we had to re-unlock all the characters makes this something I want to get in on the ground floor for.

I think the reason why you lost so often was either because you guessed wrong when getting mixed-up or that your opponent kept throwing you when you were doing a defensive hold (the counters), which causes High-Counter damage (150% damage on top of the normal throw damage).

I am disappointed that the universe spaced the releases of this and TTT2 so closely. DOA4 is the main reason I almost regret replacing my broken 360 with a PS3 and DOAD is still my favorite 3DS game, so 5 will surely take over my fighting game attention cells completely.

They only play older character themes during story mode for some weird reason. You can't really change the BGM in other modes, so it's just going to be level_ambience_cool.wav followed by level_action_suspense.wav for each level. There is a sort of petition being prepared, asking TN to add custom soundtracks like TTT2, but the DOA community got their heads up their asses right now, so who knows when they actually start this petition. I only had 1 bad match out of 37 last night with a guy I know from Chicago. The game crawled to a stop and then froze. I also managed to get my first hate mail last night from a guy who only beat once out of 8 times. Dojo mode is pretty cool with the exception that you can't look at your move list or if it's there I couldn't find it. It does not matter which way you do the circles in Bass's F5.

Ok got about 25 matches in over 9 opponents in whatever the player match analogue is(simple fight or something?) Only 1 poo poo show* of a match and the rest were what I would compare to VF5:FS in playability. All my opponents were from the states and areas ranging from IL to Cali, and California is a loving long ways away from Ontario so I would say this earns a thumbs up, at least for day one. *Only bad match was from a guy from Rochester NY, which I found really strange cause thats actually really close to me.

Anywhoozle I have played some of the single player story mode, and it is amazing in the worst way, and bad in the best way. It is like some form of high art I do not understand. I really wish they didn't make ranking a completely separate thing. It's a lot harder for me to find a ranked game than it is any other regular match and there isn't any sort of feeling of progression outside of ranked other than the fight record in the main menu. At the very least make it an option in the lobby, not segregate it to a single mode that usually seems to be ignored.

Well it's how every other fighter has done it since SF4 kinda hit the reset button on fighting games, so I guess they didn't want to be left out. I imagine the newbloods since then would have issue with the doa4 style of literally everything you do being put against your rank. (random side note) Mila owns, I am gonna start calling her Leona cause she is queen of the tackles.
