i made this song without any intention of somebody ever rapping to it. this guy did and i think it turned out pretty drat cool! http://soundcloud.com/clathrategun/the-mechanical-oppression-of-1 so we did another song: http://soundcloud.com/clathrategun/acid so now i'm practicing my hip hop skills and he's in denmark for some reason. here is a track anybody may rap to if they want to do that with it http://soundcloud.com/clathrategun/hurt/s-q8dNw . i use ableton+ apc20 and an mpk mini. constructive criticism and tips much appreciated. keep in mind that i started out listening to hip hop through cLOUDDEAD and aesop so my conventions are not quite conventional. i would love to receive tips on attaining that anticon hip hop kind of sound. dr. blanky fucked around with this message at 02:20 on Sep 13, 2012 |

guy in a jetta posted:how do I get in touch with rappers that don't suck? I have enough beats to make a full length album. and that is something I would like to do. I need a consultant or something. go to shows and chat it up with the artists afterward. i did that and was lucky enough to fall in with the local hip hop crowd; problem is i was pretty much an abstract electronic music producer and while i listened to a lot of hip hop and had produced a couple tracks with a rapper i couldn't really provide the type of instrumentals they prefer to rap on. i played a show they helped me get and one guy was going to do a track with me, but that's been about it for a while. i feel lucky to have a music scene around here like that at all but i still haven't really found my people. workin on it!
