Wow. Improv 4 Humans has a loving stacked episode. Adam Pally, Rob Huebel, and Jon Gabrus...all funny mother fuckers. Pally: You never, like, found it sexy when you found those drawings of Marge getting hosed by Homer? Huebel: I don't, no. You mean on the sides of porn sites? soggybagel fucked around with this message at 10:33 on Apr 4, 2013 |

The latest Improv4Humans was hilarious. Might have gotten slightly inside baseball if you don't know improv but holy gently caress, Colton and Charlie are some of my favorites.

I4H was a clusterfuck this week. But I mean that in the most positive way possible. It went off the rails so much but I loved it.

Being from the midwest I do hate how somehow it always gets saddled with being the bland stupid people when as we all know there are plenty of loving knuckleheads in every city. And the LA Loft comment was just the worst. That and the whole fact that Chicago's South side was a major diaspora point for southern blacks and it was just a really stupid comment.

Mr. Squishy posted:Didn't it have a finale which was a 20 minute loop of Brett calling us human garbage? He's been pretty busy lately. Also he basically did a Gelmania set at UCB two weeks ago at Put Your Hands Together. Including audio mixing and what not.

I think the thing that bothered me the most was that the rebuttal was never concise or they just weren't conveying the ideas across. I get that it was mostly for laughs and I laughed a lot. But you know, the fact that humans are capable of forethought, malice, and so on. The argument got oddly hinged on if the animal was enjoying it or some basic notion of instinct without pointing out a lot of basic facts about animal behavior. Also the fact that they kept imbuing animals with human behavior was silly.

Also Matt Walsh is from Chicago so he took personal offense as well. Also also Chicago was THE diaspora point for southern black people. So you know. No black people in chicago. The third largest city in the country.

EL BROMANCE posted:There was an episode last year where he was really pissed i4h didn't get on the nominations for a podcast award, and from a viewers perspective it didn't come off wonderfully. I know Besser has a rep, and he's not unique for that, but it's not as if this isn't a really, really good time for podcasting right now and competition is legit. I think he can go overboard sometimes but I generally like that he actually cares. I do think that in the AVClub case it was simply a matter of the fact that a lot of the people voting just never even listened to it in the first place.

That episode way way back when they talked about U2 was hilarious. And it was one of the greatest episodes of CDR in my opinion. Adam Scott, Jesse Ventura, and Ice-T.

anotherone posted:I don't remember the episode that well, was the Irish poet character a psychopath? I feel like maybe he was suicidally depressed but not actively a mass-murderer, is that right? What about the German traveller? Pretty sure he was coming to the US to commit suicide on the Hollywood sign, but I don't think he had killed anyone. The irish poet was sad and suicidal because he wasn't a success and couldn't hold down a job.

I like that they continue to refer to them as the lads from Liverpool. Although I have to admit I'm slightly annoyed they didn't talk more about the album. I honestly like U2. Would have liked to have heard what they thought about the songs more in depth.

cams posted:The two latter episodes of U(2) Talkin U2 To Me have been so amazing, and so much better than the first. I feel like after the first they had a sense of "maybe LESS sincere serious discussion and praise for U2" and executed well. I sort of disagree. I actually want them to legit talk about U2 as I like U2 as well.

Mordecai Sanchez posted:This clip from Rattle & Hum is basically the quintessential U2 clip and shows how they became the biggest band in the world through their live shows while also turning off of people for making their music not fun. It's got them at the peak of their popularity and musical ability, but it also contains all the pretentious quirks that have followed them ever since, including a great LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT THE SITUATION IN IRELAND mid-song rant by Bono. Although in this case, you can forgive Bono given that IRA terrorists blew up a bunch of people earlier that day. I actually think this is the best thing about Rattle and Hum. It felt organic and real. A lot of Rattle and Hum does not but this does. gently caress THE REVOLUTION!

Armen Weitzman is a complete weirdo. Saw him do stand up at totally JK the other week. His set consisted of him coming on stage and setting a blanket down. Then going backstage, bringing a pie out, dropping the pie on stage. Then mumbling about how did you ever want to finger a woman or how men have "carrots." This went on for 15 minutes. I'm half way through the podcast and it honestly doesn't seem particularly scathing. soggybagel fucked around with this message at 01:35 on May 29, 2014 |
