Here is the thing that no one has brought up.

As bad as that joke is, it at least is competently made. Not in terms of being really funny or subversive or even not obnoxious.
I mean it's competently made in that it has a setup, punch line and correct grammar.

The follow-up post by Charles AKA ProveMe and a long string of numbers is just a barely contained string of rage and vitriol, which adds nothing to the earlier joke.

All this leads me to believe that Charles stole this joke from another right winger or took the joke from someone else and just swapped the names with Biden.
And at no point gave the original authors any credit.

It's very obviously a variant of a much older joke of course. The replies shoehorn in this idea that kids are getting transed against their will by liberal teachers.

My brother is pretty libertarian, but when his daughter said she'd vote for Biden if she could her dad didn't belittle her for it. They live in a really conservative county and she got bullied for being one of the only people in a mock election that voted for Biden. My brother tells me there's a lot of kids that take the very worst political takes of their parents and just parrot them to classmates to upset them "Yeah go Trump gently caress your feelings losers!" type poo poo, bad enough from adults but pretty disturbing when it's coming out of the mouth of a six year old :stonk:

Bush/Clinton was sixth grade, and that included actual stuff about the electoral college and the history of why it existed. (My teacher said that, if someone won the popular vote but lost the electoral in the modern age, we'd probably do away with the EC. Which, looking back, lol, lmao, etc)

I'm beginning to think these people don't know anything about kids (or schools) at all!

I had a government teacher say the same thing about the EC and popular vote. He's probably pretty chuddy now.

I remember the 68 election as a kid. (Yes, yes :corsair:) There would be chants of "Nixon's in the White House, winding up the clock! Humphrey's in the garbage can licking up the slop!" in the cafeteria at lunch.

Or maybe the names were switched. At the time I wasn't too aware of politics, and I honestly don't remember which one was my preferred. I may even have used both, forgetting who I was supposed to be for. It was elementary school, so it was students purely aping whatever got heard at home.

A right-wing broadcaster is asking Donald Trump supporters in New York to do the wrong thing.

The former president’s hush money trial got underway on Monday, and right-wing broadcaster Clay Travis tweeted on X to implore Trump fans in the Big Apple to commit a felony to help their fearless leader.

Travis suggested that any Trump supporter “who is a part of the jury pool, do everything you can to get seated on the jury and then refuse to convict as a matter of principle, dooming the case via hung jury.”

He added: “It’s the most patriotic thing you could possibly do.”

It is a federal crime to lie to get on a jury. Since jurors are supposed to reach a verdict based solely on evidence presented during the trial, many people on social media pointed out that Travis’ suggestion may count as jury tampering, a felony.

It's also a common theme among conservatives to call for naked violence to be used as a deterrent, and they put the focus not on the reason for protest but the lack of violence against the protestors themselves.

Now I want to actually see a Rob Schneider routine

https://www.avclub.com/rob-schneider-comedy-routine-too-raunchy-republicans-1851411475

Rob Schneider's comedy routine reportedly too "raunchy" for Republican event

quote:

His alignment with the Republican-leaning infotainment ecosystem extends to his last stand-up special, Rob Schneider: Woke Up In America airing on the Fox News streaming service Fox Nation. But it turns out his brand of comedy may be too extreme for even some of the niche conservative audience he’s been cultivating.

According to Politico, Schneider was cut off ten minutes into a half-hour comedy set at a Republican networking holiday event last year because his material was too offensive. His material was reportedly “raunchy” and racist, with jokes “aimed at Asian people” including one about “Korean whore-houses.” It was so “gross and vulgar” that Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith walked out of the performance: “She didn’t have to listen to it and so she got up and left,” her spokesperson told the outlet.

All 150 attendees (“which included more than 40 Senate chiefs of staff”) received an apology from organizers the next day which read, “While we do our best to ensure every aspect of our program is professional, courteous, and appropriate, we sincerely regret that the entertainment at last night’s program fell short of that goal.” The Senate Working Group, the networking organization that held the event, claimed that Schneider broke a verbal agreement “to keep his set relatively clean.”

Or maybe not. "Too racist for FOX News" has me curious though.

Weird, I thought the whole thing behind anti woke comedy was being edgy and saying a bunch of offensive poo poo to piss off snowflakes?

Thanks. Yeah, I'm way more to the left than most people my age. My wife (younger than me) has worked for the Democratic Socialists.

Ironically, it was growing up Catholic (I got better) and in a military family that got me here. Had a lot of the liberal, hippy priests in civilian church, the whole "You need to give a poo poo about other people" part of the ideology got emphasized.

Living overseas for five years also played a part. Got to see firsthand other ways of doing things that actually work better than ours. Also spent nine months living in Manila under Marcos' doctatorship, so seeing how free carry of automatic weapons, press control by the leader, and unregulated cronyism funneling money upwards to the already rich in a poverty stricken country was a definite eye opener.

What makes Tim's statement extra incomprehensible is that even aside from the transphobia angle, what policies do women vote on that gives them less protections? I mean at its face that's ridiculous. People typically vote to broaden protections for their particular group, not lessen them. I mean look at the following:

-Workplace protections for women
-Domestic violence policies
-Child tax credits
-Access to good public education and services
-etc

Tim seems to insinuate that men vote on these kinds of policies, but women do not :psyduck:

In right winger world, laws that would define sex and gender so that trans people wouldn’t legally exist are “protecting women” from “men using women’s restrooms” and “males playing in women’s sports” and other things that transphobes hallucinate. Of course, laws that would protect women from actual harms like sexual abuse, being imprisoned for having an abortion, etc. are “woke” (and nowadays probably “DEI”).
