Whenever someone I talk to advocates for beating your kid(s), I usually just reply "I don't hit children". I mean, hell, I don't hit anybody but I especially do not hit kids.

I remember one time when both of my kids were little, I yelled at them and my mom told me to please stop. I mentioned that they yelled at me when I was a kid and she said that she really regrets how she handled us five kids and she does not want me to have the same regrets. Edit: I worked at an alternative high school for a decade plus and the kids that were constantly in trouble with the law were also the ones that said “kids these days need to be beaten more, hell my dad beat me” without an realization of what they were saying. Cross posting this from another thread I saw a bumper sticker today that read "I never knew a veteran who fought for socialism" I almost drove off the road. Also resisted the temptation to do a window roll down at the next red light and have a short chat. Of ALL the very few things in this country that a person could even remotely consider socialist, the loving military of all things has to be at the very top of the list. No?
