Countdown until creation of Conservative Movie Awards.

And a lot of kids are taught from day one that the world is fair and if you work hard and do the right thing you'll definitely make it. When you view it like that, fiscal conservative makes sense. Why spend all that extra money to help people that don't want to help themselves? It's not until people stop taking care of you that you realize the world doesn't give a poo poo about you unless you were born into a rich family that you start seeing things how they really are.

It's a fairly normal failing and screw up.

I don't really think pummeling people for a lapse in judgement while intoxicated is productive.

It wasn't alcohol he wasn't intoxicated with. They didn't specify what it was, but they made sure to point out "not alcohol".

A lot of music can be bad without mocking the music style it's emulating.

Was working on some stuff at a church today and they had Glenn Beck playing. He was talking about how the government is planning on registering all the gold people own and how China is forcing the price of gold down (but it won't stay down for long) because they want to destroy our economy. Then after his commercial break, which consisted entirely of things like Lifelock, life insurance, titanium backup, and other things you should be scared of, came back to say that a friend's uncle down in Texas was visited by the ATF. They wanted to come into his house and make sure he wasn't making guns, and they also gave him a lie detector test to make sure he wasn't.

I don't understand how people can listen to this poo poo all day long.

Did he give any explanation for why it would destroy our economy? Lower gold prices would actually be a boon for the sectors of industry that use gold for parts, gold mining isn't a major contributor to our GDP and the goldbugs never stop whining about how we're off the gold standard. I'm curious if there was any greater rational then 'the lovely investment I duped you into is crashing, but it's them drat yellow foreigners at fault.'

No explanations, just that we can't negotiate with them because they own so much of our debt and they're planning on crashing our economy for some reason. Like, they don't even care that theirs would crash too, they're just that spiteful.

Conservatives are less likely to buy light bulbs if they're labeled as "environmentally friendly" no matter how superior they are.

Edit: plus the poll showing that 40% of people didn't know the ACA passed because of all the misinformation.

Fox feeds their viewers a steady stream of Us vs. Them and playing to people's already great fears. Things are changing in the world which makes some folks scared. People tend to get more conservative when they're scared, and a conservative news source preying on those fears is disgusting. Once they've got you not trusting any other sources, you start believing their stories about Saddam being linked to 9/11, ACORN participating in prostitution, Obama staging school shootings to take away your guns, and that your only hope is to vote Republican, invest all your money in gold, and support taking rights away from The Other. See, the difference here is that those things are entirely subjective. Unless the shooter is standing still, the chance of hitting him is far, far lower than missing. The question then is whether it's worth the confusion and hail of bullets to involve multiple gunmen.

Don't worry, they'll just charge the person they're shooting at for those missed shots.

When you get to the point where a commercial featuring a happy couple eating graham crackers is a "taunt", you've really got some serious thinking and reflecting to do.
