Anyone knows where you're supposed to plant the Ent sapling on Vestlig? I've walked (not flown) all over it multiple times and I can't find the spot.

I'm halfway into my second playthrough and I've only had a few hitches here and there. There are still quite a few bugs and omissions, but the gamebreaking stuff is mostly gone.

Here's a compilation of all the bugs the community has found, if anyone is curious:

It's in Demonis (not Hades), past the "dragon casino" cave where you get the dragon's tear. Climb up the mountain and approach the top. You should be prompted to throw the hourglass in the lava.

It's more of the same, so if you liked the previous games ... But it's kinda buggy and you have less freedom for army composition, only vikings and a few neutrals for the first four islands and no undead for the entire game.

Do you want to nuke stuff? Oil mist (distortion) + fire rain (chaos) can deal some ludicrous damage if it crits. Blizzard (rune) is also a very damaging spell and can usually be aimed to hit every enemy if you go first (invest in Onslaught). With level 3 Higher Magic you can open up with level 2 + level 3 blizzard, then oil mist + fire rain on the next turn. This will decimate pretty much anything, or at least it did for me on Hard difficulty. You should know that you'll be able to max every single Magic talent and still have magic runes left over by the end of the game, so don't hesitate to invest in whatever looks good to you.

Can't tell you where to get certain spells. It's completely random.

You can leave the raven in your inventory. Equipping it won't make its scroll writing any faster.

Legend can be pretty rough. You have to do a lot of luring and dodging mobs to grab stuff and come back later when you can handle them. I never finished my first playthrough because I made it unwinnable pretty far into the game. I had to restart from scratch to finally beat it.

Armored Princess is easier because it's a lot better paced.

Another thing that came out of nowhere:

A small island lost in the sea is covered by snow and ice. It is inhabited by the clan of Snow Elves. Young Olaf, the son of the Northling King, faces his destiny again as he helps the people of the North in their struggle against the upcoming thaw.

New adventures and challenges, new friends and foes, new items and awards await Olaf on his way to victory. He will set off on a journey to distant parts of Endoria that weren’t visited even by the Royal Bounty Hunters…

  • Creature skill system – lead your troops through dozens of battles and they will become stronger than ever!
  • Snow Elves – a new Elven nation that prefers snow and blizzard of the Ice Gardens instead of the green forests of Merlassar.
  • Necrolizards – a new kind of the undead, Lizardmen that have risen from the dead.
  • New locations to explore.
  • Over 20 new creatures.
  • Revamped creatures of King’s Bounty: Warriors of the North.
  • New items with unique attributes.
  • Over 20 hours of additional gameplay.

The rune for units thing looks like a one time deal. I traded a might rune for the ability to buy warrior maidens, bought them all and he's not restocking or offering me to pay another rune for more.

I'm about to face the undead spider again but it seems I'm not actually stuck on the first 4 islands until I do like in the original. I mentioned the ice elf from the "ice gardens" (the second new NPC on the first island) to the sailor looking for his cabin boy and he gave me the sea chart for a 5th island.

Also, you have unit leveling. All your stacks gain experience for killing enemy units and can advance up to 10 ranks. No idea what happens if a full stack wipes or you disband, but I'd assume you lose everything?

No, you don't. I went through the portal, lost my whole army, went ahead and bought more of the same unit types and the experience they had was retained.

I've seen Steam download updates for the game a few times since the DLC was released. The gamebreaking stuff might have already been hotfixed. I can't confirm though, I only just reached Hades.

I don't remember much of WotN other than it was very long and that a lot of people got bored with it before the end. I also didn't use magic at all on the final boss, as a mage even, to get that achievement. I remember wiping most encounters in 2 rounds with level 2 + level 3 blizzard followed by level 3 oil mist + level 3 fire rain. I also remember getting enough magic runes to max every talent in the magic tree so just get whatever you want.

The only really hard part is the boss fight quickly followed by a hero fight that the game railroads you into fairly early on, at the end of the 4th island. If you can get past that the rest of the game should go fine. That I remember that part and not the end game should tell you all you really need to know.
