So, we were talking about colorized WW2 photos a couple pages back, how about we go farther back with colorized Civil War photos? All of these are done in Photoshop obviously and as such aren't perfect, but it sure does make you realize that these people were real.

Somehow I doubt that once they figure out that the flashes and noises are all show, that it's actually gonna suppress poo poo. It's all the result of artillery and other indirect fire trying to stay relevant in a COIN conflict, the same reason we have the Excalibur round. It's such a fundamental change in the way artillery supports operations that when we actually get in a big shooting war, we're going to have a hard time going back to the "enemy in a treeline? The best one to go see is probably the one at the Air and Space Museum in DC, then you go take a look at the space shuttle Discovery as well.
