If you have a Costco near you get their stud finder - it's the best ive ever used and works 100% of the time. My wife just got me a Phillips day light alarm clock but the drat thing keeps resetting the time back.  Need to do an exchange with Amazon. Can't find anything about it online either. So loving weird. Not a power issue either as my bed is connected to the same outlet and i'd hear that thing going off if it lost power.
