You should see the full list! Steam sales are dangerous; I've managed to avoid this Holiday Sale entirely. What's funny is that in the early days of Steam (before these ridiculous sales) I had tons of time but no  . Now I have this giant stack of games I got on the cheap and no time to play them. Flirting with the idea of a Monaco 4-pack. Initial reviews are very favorable. It's an independently-produced heist game. I think I was most intrigued not by tales of precise lockpicking, hacking, etc. but by the PA guys' story about smashing a hole in a wall and stealing a Lamborghini to get away from a horde of cops. http://store.steampowered.com/app/113020/

I finally got around to playing through S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.  This game is amazing. It is first-rate survival horror in a with the sort of depressing atmosphere that only the Russians can do so well. There is nothing creepier than escaping a raid by the Russian military by climbing down into an abandoned Soviet underground laboratory and finding that in the pitch black shadows are...inhuman things. All of you gun nuts will enjoy the detail on the weapons. Sticking with Russian gear makes finding ammo easy, but if you find a nice German rifle, the extra effort to find NATO rounds pays off. I highly recommend using the Stalker Complete mod if you have a decent PC, as it makes it even prettier.
