Cool new games I've been playing instead of the typical murder simulators known as BF3 and CSGO: The Swapper - Platform puzzle game about using clones to solve puzzles. Game has a cool atmosphere and interesting concept. Kentucky Route Zero - Game is weird but kind of interesting. Basically an old school text adventure, but with flat shaded 3d graphics. There's a lot of reading in this one. You've been warned. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition - I've died a lot so I guess the title fits. Also, S-Words. Also, tons of S-Word fighting and huge monsters. Grid 2 - At first it seemed alright, now I'm not so sure. They should have added qualifying into the sp, but nope. Expect to start at the rear of the pack every race, and in the championship races, you're pretty much hosed if you can't over take all the cars (or get to a podium spot) by the end of the first lap. Some races are only one lap... Haven't tried online yet, but from the sounds of it, don't bother unless you're in a party with your nerdy gamer friends. Another thing to note in mp is that you can't disable your mic unless you turn it completely off in windows and the game doesn't have push to talk. So if you use things like mumble or teamspeak....OWNED. Metro Last Light - Personally, I think this is one of the best looking games out to date if you have a superstar gaming computer. Also, the game is pretty fun too. I haven't played ranger mode yet, but I'm going to. Stealth was improved over 2033 making it easier to sneak past radioactive russians. You know when you're about to get into a boss fight, but oh well. Just get this game already.

I had the same problem on my Alienware (alienware bros highfive) m17x I got back in 09. You need some recent hardware (like from the past year and a half) to run windows 8 without it making GBS threads the bed. My new youtube viewing/3d solitare rig I built last October runs really well with win 8.

I'm playing Bioshock 1 for the first time ever. After about the halfway point, I can conclude this game is 4 out of 5 PADDLES. The game is pretty fun, and definitely challenging on HARD mode. So far I'm having a gas beating the tar out of people using the WRENCH. I'd give it another PADDLE if they included STEAM TRADING CARDS. Seriously, this game is a lot of fun, story is ok, and it looks pretty even today.

Windows 8 has bad support for parts that are a year and a half-2 years old. You need some new poo poo for it to work like a charm. I spent my wife's cut of the BAH on a pc and it's a beast. Fire starter netted me about 1.5 mil in payout. The first mission is the hardest part since you have to move a bunch of heavy bags. Big Oil is the biggest waste of loving time ever. Once you figure out what tree hugger energy saving fusion engine to grab, the mission is a cake walk. Also, pay for the ammo drop. I guess there's a chance of the ammo drop being hosed up so we only had one out of three bags land on the ground. The others landed on a rock we couldn't scale, and the other on a loving tree trop. Hilarious and infuriating at the same time. The second run through we did it on very hard, jacked all the ATMs/weapon bags in the first day and we got 175-190k in pay out. Still pretty lame for what the mission is supposed to be.

Commander mode is so boring too. It would have been nice to allow people to play the fps portion and do commander poo poo at the same time for those of us privy to duel monitor setups or even when you use the huge map in game for a single screen. The only thing "exciting" is clicking the UAV launch every 10 seconds. Which brings me to another point, It would be cool if they had it set to where a UAV would circle the same point until you gave it a new location to survey. If it got shot down (which never loving happens) you could just relaunch it with an in game menu like when you hold the q button to yell about trasnport or medics. Hell they could redo the whole thing like that where you could aim your crosshair and launch a uav, supplies or a missle. Also, if you didn't know you can kill a cruise missile by launching an EMP UAV where it's supposed to impact, and Bolow figured out you can shoot them down with AA. ps: I'm at over 200 kills in the rhib boat, and no you don't get service stars. What a load! this is me whenever i'm in a boat:
