Vagabundo posted:Have you seen the Black Caps lately? Complain when your coach dumps a popular and talented captain due to his buddy's venal self-interests and then the team proceeds get bowled out for 45 while top scorer has only 13 runs to his name. Honest question, no mockery: would you have said this before the South Africa series? e: series/rout/embarrassment - I know about the captain drama and all that. Did you know: a team can be poo poo and frustrating while another team is poo poo and frustrating too Hyperriker fucked around with this message at 01:24 on Jan 4, 2013 |

Windmill Hut posted:How did Sydney escape this heatwave? It's even 42 degrees in Hobart (that must be their highest ever?) Usually when Melbourne and/or Adelaide get smashed, Sydney cops it within a few days. BOM forecast for Tuesday is 38 (so if you live in the west or southwest it's going to be too hot to breathe), and 32 on Friday - hardly what they're copping but still, the heat will get here

Some good shots being played here by the SL players, loving glorious pull by Jayawardene an over or two ago. I like Bird's bowling, not only does he remind me of Stuart Clark with his action and consistent length, but it just looks like he bowls a heavy ball - hits the bat hard. Good stuff. One thing I do like about the Nine commentary is Healy's critique of Wade's keeping - I know he's a fuckwit but also he was the best keeper.

Fanelien posted:People actually listen to the nine commentary? I normally get the shits with it in five seconds and turn the radio on, but I only just got home from work and I'm out the door again in half an hour or so, can't be arsed tuning in.

Windmill Hut posted:e: Question for people who play cricket properly/competitively: How sensitive are you to feeling an edge? If you knick it, even the faintest edge, do you always feel it in your hands? Basically, yes you feel it. There are variables, as explained, but anything loud enough that the slips and umpire will hear, you definitely feel.

lmao holy gently caress matthew wade, I know top knock in the first innings but the sweep was clearly NEVER on there, 10 runs to win with like 8 days of the match left e: I'm a fan of Richie Benaud's book, and there's and there's an audiobook floating around which I can't remember the name of with stories like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1J90x9xRf24 Actually there's a video where Dickie Bird just tells stories and it's amazing, I can't find it though, I had it on VHS years ago Hyperriker fucked around with this message at 05:24 on Jan 6, 2013 |

Same thing happened when Lillee and Marsh retired, we were poo poo for a good while until Border, and he anchored an extremely average side until we got good under Taylor with Warne and McGrath
