I'll say this about Liam's version of Spartacus, he brings such a savagery to the character.

That was a pretty awesome introduction of Caesar.

Maybe I missed it but was there an explanation as to why Crassus didn't want Caesar to cut his hair and shave his beard in a more "Roman" style?

She has certainly come across as a crazy person in this episode.

Edit: No episode next week?

Yeah, that was clever. I'm still not sure if they did plan to or not?

Were those ballista things just incase Spartacus' guys tried to screw them? I might have missed something.

It really seemed to me that the pirates were totally going to betray Spartacus and crew but the Romans showing up threw a wrench into his plans.

Goddamn it. Got some nachos ready, poured a margarita and then remembered that there was no new episode this week.

Did decimation really happen like that? It seemed overly cruel to beat the guys to death with those little wooden clubs.

I keep seeing spinoffs mentioned in this thread, what is the realistic chance that we'd get something set in this universe by the same producers? I assume the show is popular enough that they'd at least want to milk this for all its worth.

They've already said they're interested in doing a spin-off with Caesar. I'm assuming they're waiting to see how well this season does and how well the actor is perceived.

I thought they covered that last season by having Crixus leading his own band of merry men until he and Sparty teamed up to free Naevia.

Events of this week's episode sure makes it look like Crixus is going to be ditching out on his own again.

You know you're in for a good time when one of the pre-show rating things specifically mentions "rape."

Edit: And there's the rape.

Here's something funny, I was looking up some stuff on IMDB and discovered that Anna Hutchison (who plays Laeta) was the Yellow Power Ranger in the Jungle Fury series.

I think last night's episode is definitely setting up an ending where Spartacus just walks away from all of this. No matter the outcome he won a symbolic victory when he made Rome tremble at his name and showed them that a slave is still a man.

And of course Caesar totally did recognize the guy.

I loved how we got the craziest crowd ever in the second to the last episode. I mean, they threw a Roman into the crowd and they tore him apart.

Edit: Am I crazy or does Liam look crazy scrawny this episode?

Probably.

I liked the cue that there was something up in the envoy scene considering he was standing there sweating like a motherfucker.

I don't get how this injury works. I mean can't they tie some swords to Argon's wrists?

Preview chat they showed Agron holding a shield with a sword kind of stuck through it so the point was sticking out passed one of the edges.
