My first thought was one of the planetaries from an Allison transmission, but it seems there are a poo poo ton of $900-$2500 billet replacements because they're so fragile. https://www.ebay.com/itm/121582AA-A...EEAAOSwfTlcprov still, might be a good start to get an idea of how beefy it needs to be. e: i guess you'd need all 3 gearsets for 3:1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ByVBBfEXWk&t=551s Powershift fucked around with this message at 04:46 on Nov 20, 2020 |

This has the tooth counts: https://www.buffaloengine.com/catalog/p-107389/116583bb-allison-1000-2000-used-planet-set If i understand what you're goal is, you might be able to find a good core for a couple hundred bucks, lock it in first mechanically, and bolt it up.

Your requirements are pretty specific, It seems to me, your best bet is going to be a mid 70s-mid80s Ford one ton truck/van, maybe even motorhome, and even then there's variance within the years. Around here there are a couple guys that have fields of specific trucks. there's a first gen ram guy and an anything ford guy. I don't know if there is anybody like that around you. Anything newer than ~1990 seems to use the dana 70u which is 32 spline.

Just jam a couple basketballs up in there. For real though, i don't know how trailer regos work up there, but around here any trailer with a vin is worth money, and worth putting a little money into. There might be a cheaper source for the length of leafs you need. Powershift fucked around with this message at 23:44 on May 30, 2023 |
