For a channel called Comedy Central they sure as hell had possibly the worst selection of movies I've ever seen. I think the highest quality movie they ever did was Ghostbusters 2 and UHF like once or twice.

I truly think Blame it on Rio is the worst movie that We Hate Movies has ever done. There may be films that were produced worse, filmed worse or had worse acting, but holy poo poo that line everyone here has already quotes was stunningly bad. The writer HAD to know that line was going to totally destroy the rest of the movie right?

I literally started cringing and making faces on the train before I remembered I was on a train when they played the line the bottom powdering. That's some gross poo poo.

What gets me is that when the line is said by Caine there are two perfectly reasonable reactions that could have happened. A. The girl realizes "Holy poo poo this man is literally old enough to be my father and is practically my uncle what the gently caress" and the movie turns into her getting out of this relationship (preferably the line would have been near the end of the film) or B. When she say her gigglely response Caine realizes "Jesus Christ this is supremely hosed up" and tries to end it.

Also, dude, there's plenty of weird poo poo in this list.

"Behind the Green Door" and "Pink Flamingos"? loving "Faces of Death"? Clint Eastwood and Clyde the Orangutan vs. the World seems downright pedestrian.

Also Clint was one of the biggest stars of that era, and a lot of his movies are on the list ("Dirty Harry", "Magnum Force", "High Plains Drifter").

Faces of Death is a weird bird. It's one of those movies you see on the list and get shocked but then you think about it and it makes perfect sense.

Pippi Longstockings is great if only for their horse impressions. "You'll get the chair Pippi! The chaaaaaaaaaaaaair". Blame it on Rio, while vile, also includes them being tortured horribly by the worst movie they've ever done. Batman Forever is another great one too.

I just listened to the Butterfly Effect episode and I forgot how much of the movie depends on Ashton Kutcher doing the weirdest wrong poo poo possible. Like instead of calling the cops or at the very least telling the dad to leave his whole family alone he specifically says "Leave your daughter alone and focus all your energy on DISCIPLINING your son!". That's such a loving dumb move to make, or deciding to straight up murder the girl's brother after he was incapacitated because.....why?

Also they're totally right at how dumb it is to imply an entire college age group of people will just burst out laughing at a disabled person falling out of a wheelchair. I'm sure there's one or two assholes, but everyone? Really?

They do talk about Thinner a lot but I think it's a pretty decent movie overall, so I doubt that. Creepshow is silly and weird but it's that way on purpose, so it's a pretty soft target. I would say that it's one of the only truly good horror anthologies, I mean it hits the horror comic book tone so pitch perfectly. Creepshow 2 however is fair game, but it does have one good story that I can recall.

I hope it's Lawnmower Man as well. Somehow that dumb movie scared me when I was a kid, and I have no idea how.

Creepshow 2 has The Raft which is loving outstanding and comes very close to making watching the entire film worth it.

Creepshow 1 is one of, if not the best horror anthology film ever made and should be watched by all horror fans.

Hmm, that is strange; I just tried to do an old one on my podcast app and it was fine, but it was on wifi. That's SO strange that it only doesn't work on 3G for you. I'll ask my gf (who has an iPhone) to download an episode again on hers and see what happens.

On a related note, Nathan Rabin joined us again to talk UHF; the results are pretty fun, considering he literally wrote the book on Weird Al.

I'm also trying not to be bitter about WHM's Spooktacular, since this year's Horror Octorbor is going to all be sequels as well - since it's our third year, we're covering the third installment of several horror franchises (Nightmare on Elm Street III, Saw III, Paranormal Activity III, The Omen III, Halloween III: Season of the Witch).

Paranormal Activity 3 rules and I'll hear nothing otherwise :colbert:

I don't know about 2 but Butterfly Effect 3's twist ending is the guy's sister can time travel too and is killing his love interests because she's in love with him. so it's one of the most insane movies ever.

Next week starts their horror movie month so it's going to be C.H.U.D. 2: Bud the C.H.U.D.

The thing is, even with We Love Movies episodes like Tuff Turf there was still enough insane bad stuff to make jokes. Creepshow is a legitimately great film so the comedy value is kinda thin.

Jason X is way too aware of how stupid it's premise is and is too involved in just having fun with the idea of 'Jason in Space!' to be truly horrible. It's too eager and fun a movie to hate.

Yea Jason X reeks of someone going 'haha this is fuckin stupid right?' every five minutes when writing the script. I hate the wink wink nudge nudge poo poo plenty but I can't really poo poo on it when stuff like 5 and Jason Goes to Hell exist, which are just objectively terrible creations.

I never got that sort of feeling. It always felt like a genuine attempt to make the most fun, absurd movie they could with the premise. The moment that sells it is the simulation scene, which is one big love letter to the entire series. It's not a movie rolling it's eyes at itself, it's a movie that genially wants to have fun and be dumb.
