Wait, so one of the biggest threats to the Catholic Church, the Cathars, were asexual cultists that loved eating eggs, fish and veggies? I can't understand why these guys were popular. It's seems to me that the Catholic view of eating, drinking, loving and then paying it all off via indulgences would be waaaay more popular . Was there popularity just blown up to stamp out a heretical branch of Christianity? I just have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that the Cathars would grow to be such a huge problem that an Inquisition and Crusade were launched against them.
