There was a brief discussion about ancient fruit a few pages ago. Should I stockpile whatever ancient fruit I find/grow (I have a few stored in a chest) or sell them off? I don't want to go without an important resource if they're needed for something down the road.

Is there a purpose to the summer celebration that involves putting ingredients into the soup? Every year I put something in, and the governor either hates the soup or thinks it's OK. I'm wondering if there's anything in it for me if he ends up really liking the soup.

I put a salmonberry in the soup for the luau a couple of game days ago. The governor hated that soup. Lewis seemed pissed.

What tools would you all recommend that I upgrade to iridium? So far, I have an iridium watering can and pickaxe, and a gold axe. Although I already have all the wood and hardwood I'll probably need, I'm not sure that upgrades to my hoe and axe are really necessary at this point. Any opinions?

Also, is there a use to the rabbit's foot? I've tried to add it to my inventory as an accessory, like a ring, but it wouldn't go into the slots.

Good info, everyone. Thanks! I probably have enough iridium by now to upgrade both my axe and hoe. If not, I'll just pay another visit to the Calico Desert.

I have a question about accessing the casino: I reached level 25 in the caverns and received my reward for it. But when I went to the Oasis the next day, the bouncer still didn't let me in. Talking to him gave me a dialogue of "...".

Is there some step I'm missing, or has the game not yet processed that I completed the mission?

What's the name of the mod that shows NPC locations on your map? If it's compatible with 1.5 and still available, I'd recommend that one. I had it installed and then lost it (probably when I got a game update).

I can't remember if we've discussed this or not, but a cool modding idea would be to add an election every couple of years or so. Your farmer could run and become the mayor of Pelican Town, though I have no idea what actual duties would be involved.

Someone has probably thought of this already.

Nah, I think Alex, Sebastian (? the goth guy) and Haley seem fresh out of high school. I'd peg Penny as being around 24ish but staying with Pam because she feels an obligation to take care of her trainwreck of a mom.

Curious if you have anything to remember making put Penny's age there? I'm totally willing to believe it. But as she's rarely enroute and seemed like a kid to me, I was not very motivated to get her hearts up.

Sadly a multi-year game does not interact well with a young and unchanging cast of characters at the cusp of their new life. Still one of the things I like about Portia is if I never turned up, everything would still broadly work (but monsters might kill some people I guess.)

Honestly, I don't really have many context clues about Penny's age other than my own interpretation. I've always thought that maybe she had some teacher training before she started tutoring Jas/Vincent, but the way things work in Pelican Town, she may have just been a volunteer who decided to become the town's teacher.

I've never played Portia. Not to go off on too much of a derail, but is it worth a shot?

Yeah, I actually married her in my game and she will often greet me in the morning with hash browns, which is really sweet. I don't remember if I've said this before or not, but I don't get the sense that Penny needs someone to "save" her from Pam; more like you marry her and she thrives away from her mother's messy, alcoholic life.

I wish there was more post-marriage character development. I married Penny in my game, and she mostly just a) occasionally cooks breakfast (nice midday energy/HP boost), b) ask for children, c) complains that Jas and Vincent were hyper. Not gonna lie, Stardew is probably one of my favorite games of all time and has earned all the accolades its gotten in the past six or seven years. However, I'm slightly annoyed that there's yet another bundle to open the Cinema. I only just completed the Community Center after taking my time with it for eleven and a half in-game years.

The particular items for this bundle are a pain in the rear end, because Void Salmon are beyond my current ability to catch, and I have yet to see a single Dinosaur Egg in my game. I guess it's more about the journey than the destination, though...
