I can’t help myself from making vast fields of iridium-irrigated crop land for the chance at giant crops. It’s more profitable to go whole hog on berries, but I gots to have those giant cauliflower/melons/pumpkins greeting me during the appropriate season.

It sounds vaguely familiar, but I have not been able to locate a source online.

Wait til they get to the RTS Warcraft tribute taking place in the Gotoro War Kidding. That isn’t in the game. But would it really surprise you to learn that it was?

thehoodie posted:All I need to do for true perfection right now is the golden clock. Right now I have a basement full of stardew wine fermenting and have been growing berries or whatever. Is there a faster way to get to 10m? Ginger Island supposedly has 878 plantable spaces. A big shed fits 129 kegs (slightly more for some input methods), meaning 6 sheds full of kegs can handle almost the full output of the island. So, build 6 big sheds and fill them with kegs. Plant 129x6 ancient fruits on Ginger Island. Harvest them once a week, and bring them to your sheds on the farm. Remove any wine that finished fermenting there, place a new fruit in the kegs, and continue on your merry way for the next six days. That’s 6 x 129 x (550 x 3) = 1.3 million gold per week, though I have no clue if you will be able to finish the six sheds before earning the 10 million directly. If you don’t have 774 oak resins handy, you can use preserves jars instead for slightly less profit per fruit. (This is my current plan. Haven’t put it to practice yet, since I am still bootstrapping my way through a strawberry/preserve pair of sheds, which give 52000 gold every four days. That money goes right back into Robin’s/Clint’s greedy pockets for the raw materials I need for sheds and kegs. )

Probably not, but the sheds are nice and rectangular, so things look orderly when I go in there.

If I am only going to play one Rune Factory game in the foreseeable future, should I make it 4 or 5? RF4 has the advantage of already being out, but maybe there are fun new mechanics or polished up old ones in 5? Edit: looks like Rune Factory 5 is Switch-only for a while to come. Guess I will add RF4 to my Steam wish list now. By the time 5 comes to Steam, maybe I will want to play another Rune Factory game. Grundulum fucked around with this message at 16:04 on Nov 5, 2021 |

Gwyneth Palpate posted:"What if we made Harvest Moon, but 40% of the game had nothing to do with farming instead of 25%?" In fairness, it sounds like they’re trying to use Stardew Valley or Rune Factory as their starting point rather than building directly from Harvest Moon. I never played HM or any of its sequels, but does combat play a role in them?

Is anyone following the mobile 1.5 status? On the App Store Stardew still shows up as 1.4.something, and the old articles I can find state (1) ConcernedApe has not given up hope of releasing it, but (2) there are no set plans yet.

How important is it that one person always controls one character? If both parties agree to use the game’s host character for single player sessions, they can play whenever and just keep the second character on ice for multiplayer sessions. This does mean the second character will advance more slowly in skills, collection, and relationships, but it’s at least a built-in way to achieve the stated goal of mixed single/multi-player.

Both Rune Factory 4 Special and Rune Factory 5 are on sale right now on Steam: $20 and $25 respectively (Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town is also on sale for $16, but not relevant to my question). Is there a reason I see RF4 recommended so frequently here and not RF5? I kind of want to buy one, but I don’t want to buy both.

You can edit your Steam library so that pushing “Play” for Stardew Valley launches the SMAPI executable rather than the Stardew game exe. If you aren’t using SMAPI, then you’re on your own.

It bothers me more than it should that the dehydrator requires just over one day to complete its thing, so I can’t check at the same time each day. But checking every other day dramatically slashes how frequently I get dried fruit out of it. Darn it, ConcernedApe, make the duration 1590 minutes, not 1750!

Is it a viable strategy to buy a shitload of cheap seeds on the last day of the season and plant them to preserve fertilizer in the fields? Folks were talking about doing that with fiber seeds, but wheat and parsnip seeds are not very expensive; if you can save a lot of quality fertilizer (and just as importantly, time tilling/refertilizing) then maybe it is the “right” play.

explosivo posted:How do I get farther down in the skull cave in the desert? Those flying things gently caress me up so bad. Should I be shooting for that rock crab ring from the adventurer's guild? Crab rings help, sure, but you basically should be spending as little time as possible on each floor. Drop a bomb if you’re near a cluster of rocks, keep yourself from taking damage just long enough for the bomb to go off, and jump in the hole. If there isn’t a cluster of rocks near you, or if you’re on a monster floor, drop a staircase instead. Finally, make sure you’re at full health before dropping down a hole so you don’t accidentally knock yourself out. You’re using a sword as your primary weapon, right? Something with good sweeping angle, long range, and fast speed? That will make it a touch easier to keep the flying eels away.

I’m confused. It takes 8 weeks to get 2x gold for iridium-level wine. Or two weeks to get 1.25x gold. If you restock your casks every two weeks with new starfruit wine, you get 4*1.25=5x gold per cask. If you only turn over your cellar every two seasons, you get (1*2)+3*1=5x gold per cask (directly selling the sets of wine you didn’t cask). Since the actual money amount is the same, I guess the real value is player time saved?
