Well the thing with the claws do seem to resemble his jacket he is wearing in this scene, even with the zipper. Not sure what that red light is though:

I only noticed this because I decided to give this comic a second reading while bored at work.

So here's an interesting thing. Spender's Spirit Fusion was with both spirits, I think. Obviously Lucifer is the more powerful, so he takes the majority of the fusion's form, but the shadow spirit that's also trapped is also represented by the dark body within the cage that would otherwise be Spender's torso.

It could just be the cage that the "bird" is sitting in.

I guess I don't get why he's angry. She's wearing the suit, it's obvious she's an agent. And Spender could be a friend with an agent for all he knows.

I don't know why Max is suddenly taken aback by that then. It's not like he's decided to side with the agents yet at Boss Leader's request.

I checked how many pages this chapter has been (150+). If this was a comic book that was put to print, this would be over 7 issues. Most of the time if Marvel's publishing something with an extended storyline, it's 6 issues for a story arch.

Not really stating how long this story is (I only started reading when Eightfold started the story on the train), just thought the comparison was interesting.

I love what appears to be an homage to the xfiles in the Spender scene. I can't do the research to look it up and wouldn't know where to start (xfiles marathon noooo) but I'm pretty sure there is a recurring theme of Mulder poring over books work coffee in the background late into the night after a failure. Or it's just a general trope I've attributed to xfiles. Either way it's good.

Holy poo poo that first panel is amazing. There's so much detail in the house and trees, and then it's covered in unique spirits. That page would be worth a week long wait (and would take me a lifetime to draw anything that looked that good).

He also replied on Twitter that he did that months ago, so it has nothing to do with these delays. A few days ago he said it was because he was taking on some freelance work to pay bills, and that was the reason.

Psych major here (who's not using his degree), randomized rewards are the ones that do cause people to repeat a behavior the most. This is part of the reason why casinos can do so well. There's no logic to when your behavior will have payout, so you keep doing it.

Otherwise, Kid Radd was a good one that was unique, and finished its story. It tried a bunch of HTML tricks to render its pages and sync things up. It ran for two years.

Hijack's brother is an odd point I'd forgotten about, could he only have been needed as a temporary measure to initially pacify the train? His brother demonstrates complete control over a hosts body and the train ran rampant twice. It's seems very likely Hotwire wasn't operating the train at the time it died given the lack of 2 spirits coming out from it.

On the note of killing spirits. It's been pretty consistent that when any kind of spirit (hijack withstanding) has their spectral body damaged enough they turn into that whisp. Even the Demon dogs went all whispy before winking out into a pixel explosion and respawing. But it's a fair point that Hijack is something more artificial even by spiritual standards so he's got different rules regarding what can actually kill him.

I'm going to sound dumb here, especially since I reread this comic recently, but when do we ever see Hotwire that isn't the flashback scene when Hijack is about to be bisected?
