After seeing a little of this a while back and being extremely interested, I've finally sit down to really get into this comic. I'm most of the way into Chapter 6 and I just wanna say

I love this comic's ability to have all the screws explode out of their fittings and have a situation just implode in on itself in every conceivable way all at once.

Yeah, I feel like Cresce isn't super well thought out as a concept, because running a centrally planned moneyless economy is basically impossible without the kind of supercomputers that show up in far-future sci-fi novels.

It's completely impossible with a medieval bureaucracy and logistics network, but magic does change that dynamic a fair bit.

There's a definite irony in this scene - Stockyard may think Sette's been duped (and he's right), but he's been duped just as thoroughly, about Duane's nature and almost certainly about why he's being shipped and what happens next.

Maybe

Maybe we shouldn't worry about what silly chatroom roleplaying the author did years ago??? Maybe it has limited, if any bearing on what is going on right now

Since roleplaying Sette has little resemblance to actual Sette

Basically maybe everybody should settle the gently caress down, stop e-stalking like creepy creepers and holy poo poo stop wringing your hands about Murkoph! He is no more forcibly inserted into the plot than Sette, the rustling of your jimmies is like 90% self inflicted.

I'm just trying to find a reason for Murkoff to even be in this story besides being the authors pet character. Because he does nothing but show up and be edgy. No exceptions.

You can't think of any possible reasons why a weird zombie stuck in the Khert might be relevant in a story with taglines like "Death is the gods' crime" and lingering mysteries about the nature of Ssael and his scriptures that proclaim the gods to be dead?

Like

Death, afterlife, and moving on/being unable to move on are central themes here. Murkoff has something to do with that, what we don't know in any detail since right now he's busy getting #rekt but there's some obvious hooks.

I've been unable to visually parse half the pages of this comic ever since the first silver monster showed up. At this point I'm given up and am just along for the ride.

I'm genuinely confused how someone could be unable to parse what's going on. Like...what's unclear? The big monster is basically a ghost cocoon around the people embedded with first silver and is entangled with the building using that silver. It is also trying to kill our intrepid heroes with tentacles of first silver.

I'm just sayin', it's pretty easy to derive that from the visuals in conjunction with the words. Grasping the story helps me decode the visuals a lot. Silver.

Now by contrast, Poppy O'Possum is a comic that visually confused the hell out of me recently because A) seemingly random time jumps mid story arc and B) baddies manifesting abilities that only made sense in the context of explanations given out of the comic.
